I'm likely in the minority on this but I think that's fucking bullshit. The dude didn't r*pe or violently abuse anybody nor did anything he allegedly did involve minors. There's also the issue of the kid getting paid off by his mom to not tell the truth which brings at least a little doubt into at least some of the allegations.

Additionally, it's not like these chicks haven't seen cock before. Jesus.

But the public outcry for "justice" caused Roger to get weak in the knees. I've seen people say he should be banned for life without actually knowing the details of what he did.
You're in agreement with some Browns fans

Meanwhile, the NFL PR machine is working overtime to make sure they look good. Roger is gong to tout how he wouldn't accept this type of behavior against women and how he really wanted to throw the book at Watson. This is all about league image at this point and I think Roger sees this as his chance to look tough on crimes impacting women.
Yea it looks like the Stephen Ross fire wasn't enough to redirect any attention now that its sandwiched between the Watson crap... NFL thought they were slick with the timing... But I get the sense they were obviously hoping for a longer suspension and/or fines.

So you don't have any problem with this guy leveraging his status to threaten women into massaging his penis?

:susp:

Threaten? That's the first time I've heard that other than a woman saying she "felt" threatened.

Women massaging cocks in massage parlors is an every day event. Don't be a drama queen.

Oh, look, you're a Steelers fan. Of course you don't want him to play ever again.

I mean, I guess he could voluntarily serve those games.... Much the way a college imposes sanctions on themselves. It just seems to me that no matter the outcome, the 6 games will stick regardless. Might as well serve those 6 games given the team already has a plan for it and it's financially feasible.
It makes sense to do it that way if those games would count. Might be something that says they cannot fight it AND serve the punishment?

Wonder what women will think about Goodell shutting down the ruling....of a woman.

Winston got three games for groping an Uber driver.

I thought I heard if the NFL appeals, that this is going to Federal Court which means his current status of being suspended, is no longer the case. He is eligible week 1 to play. If the Federal court is busy, it could be a year before they get to his case, allowing him to play this entire year before the case is even heard. If that is the case, and say he gets suspended for a year after the federal court case, his $1 million dollars he makes this year as salary outside his signing bonus, isn't what is going to be hit, it will be next years $45 million dollars that is at risk.

Was I not hearing this correct?

I am pretty sure he would get put on the commish exempt list while it all gets sorted out. He still gets paid while being on the list but wouldnt be allowed to practice or play.

....but even that might generate a court case. I've always been a little surprised that no one has ever sued when on that list. There is still being irreparable harm done by sitting on the list even if you are getting paid.

Jan. 18, 2015: Reports surfaced that NFL is looking into the Patriots' use of "deflated footballs" in the AFC Championship Game victory over the Colts. Midway through the game, a ball was taken off the field and out of circulation, a league spokesman told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport at the time. Per the NFL rulebook, game balls must be inflated with between 12.5-13.5 pounds of air. Each team must provide 12 primary balls for testing prior to the game. NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino told NFL Network that, "it's not unheard of for a ball to be removed from circulation and then tested during the week for whatever issue there was."

July 15:2016 Brady announces via his Facebook page that he has "made the difficult decision to longer proceed with the legal process." Brady will accept his four-game suspension and be eligible to return to the field against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 9.

I hope you're in a minority. Getting your dick out and rubbing it against someone above the age of consent who doesn't want that sort of attention isn't r*pe, isn't violent, and isn't involving a minor...but it's very clearly wrong.

Yeah but that had to do with timing. Brady was suspended early in the offseason and then won his court case before the season even started. It was under the guise of winning his court case that Brady played the 2015 season under. It was the NFL appealing the decision that took so long. And it wasnt until the 2016 offseason that the NFL then won the decision. (Also was interesting how quickly Brady got that original trial. Only took took like 6 weeks. It was the NFL's appeal of the appeal that took so long. Maybe Watson's first appeal will be quick like that too).

With Watson it is different. He will get suspended no matter what. It's just a matter of 6 games or 12 game or whatever it is the NFL is going to try and push. That's why I think he might qualify for the list.

.....but then again I do remember Goodell at one point talking awhile back that Watson was not eligible for that list because it was a civil and not a criminal case. So maybe he wont get put on the list.

That is actually why I never thought Goodell would challenge this. Watson is guilty in the court of public opinion for sure. But he literally has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing. Really, really murky waters they are treading into with this.

Pardon my ignorance but hasn't Watson denied all allegations regarding forcing anybody to do anything and everything that happened was consensual? Isn't that why there are no criminal charges? There's no evidence?

I work with a guy that gets handy's at massage parlors all the time. Seems pretty common.
