Just a note to ESPN FF users. After many years and numerous emails, they have finally changed 'KEEPER' rules to make some sense. You can now assign any keeper to a specific round. Bandit and I both commish leagues that use that format and it was always a pain in the ass to not have that ability. Only took 8 yrs to have them listen. ..... but finally.

Leveon Bell says he will NOT play football in order to concentrate on boxing.

Ok then
I mean it's certainly a lot easier to not play football when nobody is offering for you too. On a side note, I'm not going to play football either and I'm going to concentrate on selling insurance.

You should hold a press conference.

You should hold a press conference.
Make sure to mention in the press conference that several teams have inquired about your availability. Talks are heating up.
And then (@TREFF will like this), make sure someone at The Atlantic picks up the story.

Came across this article and found it interesting:

  1. Clyde Edwards-Helaire
  2. Jerick McKinnon
  3. Isiah Pacheco
  4. Michael Burton (FB)
Shocked to not see Ronald Jones’ name here? McKinnon’s return endangers him more than some are willing to admit. I’m left wondering about the things Jones does well enough to make this roster. He’s not strong in pass protection and he hasn’t been a very good receiver in the NFL (both things that McKinnon does well).
If the roster crunch comes down a certain way, I think the Chiefs will value special teams ability from their running backs. Both McKinnon and Pacheco can play special teams with experience and success doing so. Jones has just under 200 career special teams snaps and was not a particularly good player in those roles with Tampa Bay.
Pacheco makes it over Derrick Gore here, but only because he’s made it to and spent time on the practice squad before. Also, I’d bet on a lot of things happening before I’d bet on Andy Reid and Brett Veach cutting Mike Burton and going into the season without a fullback.

saw that earlier today as well, then I dug a little deeper and saw that it came from a podcast/blogger guy who's only like a part time sports journalist with no actual connections to the Chiefs outside of being a big time fanboy

hope he got the clicks he was looking for!

come check out my next article, where I project the Titans will cut Ryan Tannehill cause he doesn't play special teams and didn't in Miami either

I figured you won't care for the article. Some bloggers are pretty good, they follow ever move, know the history, the coaching staff, the players and make valid points, course some times they are way off.

Anyone can make guesses on roster cuts, but that won't change the fact that they're just guesses unless they have some actual insight with the coaching staff.

Slow NFL news week when "Fournette was overweight in June" and "Chiefs RB FA acquisition is getting cut" are the headlines

You can't watch CEH's lack of passing game involvement the previous 2yrs and all the meat he's left on the bone in the rushing attack and think a team with legit SB aspirations isn't going to try to improve it.

And when McKinnon is the reason for cutting Rojo??? Did this guy watch football at all the last 2 yrs? Or did he think his favorite team that he blogs about every week brought in Rojo to convert him into a passing down back? Some next level clown shit there or he thinks Reid is an idiot

Now, if he gave reasons why CEH beats out Rojo and that's makes Rojo expendable, that's at least some kind of legit thought process, even if I don't agree with it.

"But special team snaps" lol, I'm guessing that guy has a lot of CEH at 1.01 over Taylor on his dynasty teams

well,
given my opinion of RoJo, in a vacuum, I could certainly see him being cut at any given point. That being said, i cannot imagine a scenario where that is the case in KC this year.

Personally I think McKinnon COULD be a viable reason to not keep him, he showed plenty late in the year once finally healthy enough to contribute. But, the pure and simple fact is, he isn't reliable in the "availability" department, regardless of whether he can or can not carry a significant load. He simply gets hurt far too often and far too easily.

And a rookie over RoJo?? well stranger things have happened, but that's one helluva a stretch considering the only other options would be a somewhat oft injured and only mildly productive CEH, and the always injured McKinnon, which means its not only possible, but entirely probable that at any given moment, you'd be entrusting Mahommes's backside blitz protection to a rookie or some schmuck signed off the street later, for a potentially extended part of the season, not to mention this team has SB expectations and leaving the backfield to a rookie RB that has shown nothing thus far to suggest he can succeed at this level, is probably not entirely wise.

If they're only keeping 3 RB's, that doesn't necessarily suggest the 3rd has to play special teams. Not carrying a 4th would suggest that spot went to use elsewhere, and its entirely likely that extra DB, LB, WR can fill whatever special teams slot that 4th RB would have filled.

Just more BS filler with no reliable sourcing nor rational thought put into it. Dumb

Since things are slow, lemme throw out a bold prediction:

Allgeier will be a top-5 rookie RB in FF points.

He's got the skills and the fit, Patterson's usage is going to go way down, and the offense will keep getting better as the year goes on and everybody matures.

not sure how bold that is... i feel like most of the top backs in this class all went to teams where they are seen as the backup or RB2 in a committee...

i think only Hall is considered a number one for their respective teams right now....

The discussion of RoJo getting cut is an interesting 1. But why would KC waste their time going after him in the offseason if the plan was to evaluate him in camp (hoping all the while that McKinnon or Pacheco step up), then cut him?

Interesting....according to fantasypros:

1) Hall
2) Walker
3) Cook
4) R.White
5) Pearce
6) Spiller
7) Z.White
8) Robinson
9) Algeier
10) Davis-Price

I could easily see him outproducing the next 4 guys on the list to crack into the top 5 - I don't think Z.White and Pearce have a shot in hell at being anything great in year 1. Robinson has to beat out Gibson and McKissic soaks up passing downs, Spiller has to eat significantly into Ekeler, even Cook and R.White could be leapfrogged if they don't get decent usage and Algeier does.

I think my biggest counter point to your prediction is that the Falcon offense keeps getting better as the year goes on. Not so sure Mariota and/or Ridder is better than Ryan. And its not like Patterson can be considered your typical "old" RB, since he's not really a RB and didn't see the usage or wear and tear that other 30yr old RBs have seen so he could have enough left in the tank to hold off Algeier.

Also, what does being in the top 5 for rookie RBs even get you? I'm guessing around 8-10pts a game which is RB3/4 territory. I'd bet good money you have someone on your bench that's a better flex play than that in a 12tm league
