Idk honestly…Lebron definitely wants back in CLE eventually, whether that is next year or later, it will happen. I really do think Windhorst is right. No extension for LeVert, if Sexton takes the QO or take a 1 and 1 with a team option something like that, they are set up to go after him. They need a wing and he fits the mold. They definitely would pursue him and he would definitely consider it. If Kyrie isn’t on LA by next offseason and the Lakers keep falling short, don’t be surprised.

The #1 goal for him is playing with his son but until that is possible…it’s winning. He played in CLE while earning money didn’t he? Winning is still everything, don’t be confused. With LA without assets or good pieces and CLE with basically the opposite situation right now…it could happen.
Not nearly as sure as you the Cavs would pursue, especially if Gilbert is still running things. Thinking he wants to prove we can win without him and looks like maybe he can.

Now, if things were looking bleak? Different story.

We'll see.

Yeah, things got contentious when James left.....can't see Gilbert wanting him back.

Not sure where folks are getting this Lebron wants to return to Cleveland stuff. I don't remember seeing or hearing that anywhere else.
I doubt he'd say it even if he wanted to.....but agree I don't see it happening especially for what I think we could pay him.

As I said, if things looked like they did in 2014 before we got him back? OK, I could see it. we'd have to show little progression next season for me to think Gilbert would want this. Guessing the players want to do it themselves, too,....not that it should be up to them.

They loved him when he was there, hated him when he left and now want him back?

Bizzare.

Who hates him?

Some people don't like him for his politics in a red state or his constant team jumping which is understandable imo

Most hated him when he left the first time and where fine with him leaving the 2nd time as they weren't going anywhere. The Lebron to CLE is the worst kept secret in the NBA.

There are NBA executives who put him back in Ohio. “It’s the worst kept secret in the league, the worst secret. The worst kept secret of his career: [LeBron] wants to go back to cleveland. He’s in love with the youth, the training, and building the squad there.

Well he did it once and goal is the championship. The main point is they wouldn’t be giving up anything other than Sexton not coming back. Either way it doesn’t matter either way, I love this young core

Gilbert made a fool outta himself with his comments about LeBron going to Miami. Then four years later he welcomed him back.

He put his feelings about LeBron aside once and it got him the greatest Finals comeback of all time. You really think he'd rule out LeBron returning for a third time?

Because an older LeBron with this group of Cavs would probably be damn good. Unlike in LakerLand if he ends up back in Cleveland he won't have to carry them.

It did the first time too. Didn’t Kyrie hate Lebron? Things change lol. Nothing can change by your POV. He never liked him when he came back the 2nd time but it happened

It's the same blueprint as what happened in Miami...Only Miami wasn't this bad in year 3 like the Lakers are lol
Yeah it’s pretty bad in LA. They did a poor job after the title

Lmao...no shit its awkward.

Our latest around-the-league notes compilation leads off with the first hint of the awkwardness you can expect for LeBron James’ team if it is unable to trade Russell Westbrook this summer. When I chatted Thursday on Spotify Live with longtime Lakerland chronicler Brad Turner of The Los Angeles Times, I asked BT to try to forecast how awkward Darvin Ham’s first training camp address to the team will be if Russell Westbrook is still a Laker in late September..

I’d say we were promptly treated to a glimpse of how that tension might feel Friday night in Las Vegas during the Lakers’ summer league opener. Westbrook and LeBron James ended up in the same gym as spectators for the first half of the Lakers’ heavy loss to the Phoenix Suns’ summer squad … with Russ and Bron staying as far away from each other as possible until Westbrook’s apparent departure at intermission.

You can safely presume that Westbrook is aware of James’ stance. He surely knows, no matter what Ham says, that the other two starry prongs in last season’s ill-fated Big Three — James and Anthony Davis — are eager for a trade to materialize that essentially swaps Westbrook for Irving, even though both campaigned for the Lakers to acquire Westbrook from Washington last summer despite Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka’s advanced talks with Sacramento on a deal headlined by perimeter shooting specialist Buddy Hield..
