There was hardly any question that JB was going to sign with the Knicks. The question was whether or not the Mavs would reciprocate with a max offer.

So now… we wait. And see.

Not sure how I feel about this. Year 3 is gonna be poop for sure. Year 1 you’re likely getting that Dog Embiid wanted. Is he a 3? Is this the end for Harris because Tucker fits best as a 4 not a 3. Tucker Harris 3/4 isn’t awful but it ain’t great either. Tucker replaces DG’s corner 3 and is likely a better defender because he has aged a little better than DG. I need to see the rest.

How did they get the room? My only answer is that Sixers have a new deal in place with Harden that kicks in this year instead of his 47.5. I’m guessing it’s in the 40 range. It looks like something 3 years 110-120 million.

So now… we wait. And see.

Knicks may still need more cap room to make it happen. Perfect chance to do sign and trade. Cap space Knicks already cleared can be used to sign depth when most teams will be cap strapped and unable to offer more than the midlevel. Good spot to recoup something IMO.
