DJ doesn’t. Seems he’d rather the Lakers play out the string and watch LeBron opt out and leave.

There really isnt anything that indicates Lebron will opt out and leave. All of the pundits seem to think he will stay in LA until he retires or Bronny gets drafted.

What I could see Lebron doing though, especially if they end up just keeping Westbrook, is to not sign an extension and seeing what they can do via FA next summer. Then deciding on staying in LA or going somewhere else for a couple of seasons based on that.

The day after Irving teasing myself and all Lakers fans.

RW and both 1st rounders for

1-Rozier and GH with a future 2nd rounder.

2-Brogdon and Hield and a future 2nd rounder.

Preference is option 1.

Pacers already said they dont want russ

THT is not an asset anymore.

That ship has sailed. I wouldn’t label him a bad contract necessarily, but there just isn’t a lot of upside there.

His offensive efficiency is among the worst in the league lol.

I could see him turning a corner like Bruce Brown did but he also has to have that mindset. And he's not as good a defender.

Nm. He isn't even a Bruce brown. Lol

More fun is the lakers taking Hayward and Harris while moving rw tht and nunn contract wise

Some picks definitely move Around here too

If they got both those guys that would be a nice haul. Obviously a risk but to me the best possible way out of this situation.

Take on two 2 year deals for RW and clear the books in 2024 minus AD and whatever Lebron does.

It'll be interesting next season to see how many games Kyrie misses because he'll need some me time.

Well the one thing LA has going for them is they could conceivably have AD and about 100 million dollars to start over in 2 years.

Yeah cap space for big market teams is gold in itself but for the Lakers the best scenario in terms of AD is he balls out this year and his trade value skyrockets. Then if Lebron leaves they can trade him and start over with young pieces and cap space OR if they want to keep him they can pair a star next to him to replace Lebron.

Trades have to match at like 80%.

So it really only has to get close to matching. The over cap team can take on extra salary as long as what they send out gets within the matching threshold.
Ty!

The FA would have to be a #1 type.

AD isn't one. #2 option.

Agreed. Like I said I'd go full tear down now but also see that as unlikely. So definitely agree they could move AD and start over completely after a year or two.

Did anyone honestly think Kyrie would opt outta 36m and take 6m after losing around 15m last season?

Just did something on the trade machine that allows Charlotte to dump major salary:
Hornets get RW
Sixers get Hayward and Plumlee
Lakers get Tobias Harris Furkan Korkmaz and James Bouknight

Trade worked with the trade machine.
3 bad contracts getting moved. Sixers and Lakers get a better fit with a bad contract coming in that fits better. Hornets only take on the expiring of RW for one year that sets up their extensions.
Actually, not too bad on 2nd thought.

In non LA news Detroit is keeping Diallo and have made the qualifying offer on Bagley. Have to assume Frank Jackson is gone. (He'd be a good one for LA if he shot like he did 2 years ago)

Making it even less likely they go for Ayton.

I'm starting to think it's more likely they fill their cap space through trade rather than Bridges.
