I think it was Romeo who came up with the answer to these types of problems. His answer was to launch them to the moon.
I am sorry, but I didn't get it right. It was launch them to the sun.

Choo needs to be launched to the sun. He's basically a sunk cost at this point.

The Yankee relievers are going to end up with more wins than the starters.

Termarr Johnson is a high school shortstop out of Georgia. Most sources already call him a second baseman, so keep that in mind when you read about the tools and see their ratings. Keith Law just recently posted a draft update with Johnson rated third overall. We posted about recent draft prospect rankings here and here. Johnson rated fourth for Baseball America, second for ESPN (Kiley McDaniel) and third for MLB Pipeline. Basically, he is someone who you should be paying attention to right now.

Johnson is not big by baseball standards. He is listed at 5’10”, 175 pounds by Pipeline (see below), and he hits from the left side. He will turn 18 on June 11th, which makes him a bit younger for the draft class (he would have been 17 for a few days under the old draft dates). His carrying tool is his bat. Pipeline rates him as an average defender with average speed, but he gets a 70 rating for the bat, and a 60 rating for the power. Their praise of his bat was very high, saying that he might be the best pure hitter from the prep ranks in decades. Even higher praise came from one scout compared his plate discipline to Wade Boggs, and multiple evaluators told Pipeline that they have 80 grade numbers on his bat. He’s an elite contact hitter, who has shown the ability to handle velocity and off-speed pitches well. He makes a lot of hard contact and has excellent bat speed, meaning he’s not only going to be a high OBP player, there is 25-30 home run potential.

I think that is the price teams pay for keeping so many relief pitchers. You used to be able to keep a guy on your bench who was a true first baseman, but then teams used to only carry 5 or 6 relief pitchers.
Just now checking in but I thought that when I was looking at some things about Miller yesterday I saw that he played about 50 games at 1B last year.

As bad as Lowe is now, he still leads in BA ,OBP and Hits. Pretty surprising.

Elijah Green, IMG Academy (HS)

This isn’t an exact science, but Elijah’s 99th percentile career outcome is probably the best player in professional baseball at his peak. He has arguably four 60+ tools with easy 70-power and 70-speed. His arm is a 6, and I’d say the glove is a 6 as well. Some whiff concerns and fringy — but average — swing decisions have his hit tool as a 45. Not many 18-year-olds have the ability to hit a baseball 110 mph with a wood bat, but Elijah is one of them. He’s a freak athlete. Some of the things he can do on the field are unbelievably impressive. His ability to lift balls, and do so with real 70-power is impressive. He’s able to mishit baseballs and still do damage thanks to his bat speed.

It’s a profile very similar to Byron Buxton; both have high-end athletic profiles with steep swings that create lift on balls and also naturally have their hardest hit balls come at impactful ball flights. Elijah has had serious whiff issues both in showcase and in high school, and while those have to be factored in, the guy is such a unicorn and physical specimen that you just have to accept how special he is. Dylan Crews, another prep outfielder out of Florida, got nit-picked to the bone his senior year because of his performance/whiffs and then put up the best offensive season in college baseball as a freshman in the best conference. Sometimes you have to bet on the outlier traits a player has, and in this case, that’s Elijah.

A new name emerges at the catcher spot for the first time since mid-April while a returnee pops up at shortstop as he continues his blazing hot offensive campaign. Only one organization claims multiple honorees this week with a pair of Rangers prospects among the position-player group. ...To be eligible for the Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week, Minor League players must be ranked among their club's Top 30 prospects on Pipeline's lists. (Those in the Majors do not qualify.)

Catcher: Sam Huff, Round Rock Express (Triple-A)
Rangers No. 11
.333/.500/1.133, 4 G, 5-for-15, 4 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R, 5 BB, 4 K

For just the second time this season, a catcher not named Shea Langeliers nabs our weekly honor, and this week it goes to Texas prospect Huff, who played just four games but crushed for Triple-A Round Rock. After returning from his first big league game of the season on April 30, Huff was behind the plate twice and served as the Express' designated hitter twice. In just 15 at-bats and 20 total plate appearances, Huff reached base 10 times, with four of his five hits leaving the ballpark. After cranking a three-run homer and adding a walk on Tuesday at Reno, Huff homered twice more and drove in four on Wednesday, then went 2-for-4 with yet another long ball on Thursday. Friday night, the only game of the award period in which he didn’t reach via a hit, Huff walked twice. The backstop had a rough 2021 after a knee injury suffered during Spring Training limited him to just first base and DH duties following two months out of action. Through 19 games this season with the Express, Huff is now batting .260/.349/.575.

2B: Ezequiel Duran, Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A)
Rangers No. 4, MLB No. 81
.462/.462/.846, 6 G, 12-for-26, 2 HR, 4 2B, 8 RBI, 4 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 SB

Duran didn’t work a walk last week, probably because when you’re swinging a bat as hot as he was, there’s no need. Texas’ second base prospect scorched his way through Frisco’s six-game series against visiting Arkansas with hits in each game and multihit games is his final four. The most blistering stretch of Duran’s hot week came from Thursday through Saturday when the 22-year-old went 8-for-13 with a homer, four doubles and five RBIs. In addition to recording hits in all six games of the week, Duran had at least one RBI in the final five, including three contests with two driven in. Like Diaz, Duran’s numbers were pedestrian entering the week (.225/.279/.375) and much more impressive coming out of it (.283/.321/.491 through 25 games).

A little odd that Duran and Huff were named to the mlb prospect all star team last week, but didn't make the Rangers own minor league players of the week awards.
