unless they can prove he's not actually getting the treatment? Yes.

that's a separate conversation than the current information that we have. Which says:

1) he is going
2) the sixers know who it is
3) they want access to confidential medical information and that's why they fined him

The reality is that if the Sixers were asking for his personal medical records they would be violating the NBAPA and HIPAA. Instead, Simmons chose to meet with the Sixers medical staff.

If it's a Workers Compensation type issue, they actually can tell him who to see. He still has the right to see his own doctors, but has to also see a "Workers Comp" doctor.
Gotta be very careful bring in Worker's Comp. I dealt on the insurance carrier side of Comp. The first question is this. Are the Sixers paying Worker's Comp insurance? If not, they don't have a leg to stand on. Comp isn't even a discussion if they don't pay a carrier for coverage. You do know that comp is paid by a risk premium for every $100 earned. If the Sixers are paying a "cheap" premium of say $15, Simmons Comp premium would be $4.95M per year. If you cover one, you have to cover all. $15 times what $200M would be $30M per year. My guess is that their self insured.

Whatever the sixers did it went through layers and layers of legal approvals, you can count on that.

Not necessarily.

They’re on the hook for that money anyway.

It’s a sunk cost

But they can make it rough on Simmons instead of just sending him home

Sixers want an all star and three first round picks for Simmons. I want to know where they're buying that blow. Stevens said that Simmons ""might"" be a decent reserve but he's not worth a top ten starter at any position. Every player in every professional sport has 'potential'. Simmons has never reached his and until he does, he's no better than a Romeo Langford. Who's actually playing better at this time.

Sixers are definitely asking for too much if that is their true asking price. Any team that takes him is taking a big risk.

Maybe everyone who's saying they'll never get that will be wrong and someone will do as the Sixers and their fans seem to think, panic and end up giving them wat they want? That's not what my bet would be, but who knows?

We've seen teams get pretty stupid around the trade deadline.

Yeah, that's why I said "Workers Comp like". I doubt professional sports teams have true Workers Comp like you and I would be subject to. But I would bet there's some provision in the CBA that protects both sides in this situation in a similar way to Workers Comp.

I can't speak to what Morey really expects to get back for Simmons, but I think most Sixer fans are trying to be reasonable.

Obviously the 4th 1st and star player was ridiculous. But I don't think it is unreasonable to want Hield/Halliburton or even Jaylen Brown. Doesn't mean that they will get that. But it isn't unreasonable.

Yeah, end of the day, the only ones who truly know what Morey is asking for are Morey and any teams he's spoken to.

The problem is obviously that while Simmons possesses franchise changing talent, he also has the kind of baggage that can cause a team to implode.

Tough to know how to reconcile that.

The Sixers don't want to take too little for him, then turn around and watch him become the "Lebronv2.0" that folks were projecting when he was drafted.

But at the same time, teams don't want to give up a lot for him and watch him wreck their team.

Hield and Halliburton would be my preferred choice but yeah, something like that. I'm fine with Mitchell/Hield as well.

I've maintained that the Kings make the most sense as they have redundant players. Simmons could make a huge difference for the Kings.

I think Simmons for kyrie makes the most sense for eveyone.

Maybe kyrie and brown and Philly kicks something back. Idk

Yeah. I think that ultimately the team that the Sixers will make a deal with will either A) be desperate and hoping for a home run shot or B) convinced themselves that they are the Simmons whisperer that can unlock his true abilities.

Kyrie is just way too much of a wildcard. He could literally retire tomorrow and it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

It was in the article I posted. They fined for a shoot around he was present for but doc rivers told him to sit out because he wasn’t actively playing yet

Then they did this: Sources: 76ers fining uncooperative Simmons

Which clearly says he was fined for not sharing info from his private doctor with the team
basic info

like the dr's name and how often he is going to see the dr.

not what they are talking about in the meeting

last night's game, while a loss, was pretty great

especially since we had all our "others" on the court the whole time...essentially none of our starters.

Yep. Hopefully, we look back at this time and point to the way guys like Maxey, Milton, Niang and Korkmaz asserted themselves. 2nd unit has grown up. Also, selfishly speaking, a start for Drummond = easy money for me betting o his rebound total. Last night it was 14.5 and he got 20. The night before he ripped 25. Dude is a rebounding machine. I used to think Dwight Howard was the best back up center complement to Embiid…and now I’ve changed my mind watching Drummond.

Last night's loss was better than most wins. A severely underhanded team played hard and pushed the reigning champs. The final score did not reflect how close it was, for those who didn't see it. Maxey was huge.

My favorite part of his game last night:
39 minutes on the floor and a ton of that with the ball in his hands and he had zero turnovers. I was screaming at my tv when the play by play dude on TNT was saying it was clear the Sixers need a PG. Fuck that noise. They have a PG in Maxey and he’s getting better each night out.
