The only promise Simmons is showing is that he wants to get paid. No team in their right mind is going to take that headache on.

You mean like how Harden was a headache that no one wanted?

What Simmons is doing is certainly pushing the envelope. But every team in the league would love to have him on the roster.

And if you are a Kings team that is facing yet another lottery season, you think that McNair isn't going to feel pressure to shake things up?

Hield and Mitchell is the way

Hield and Halliburton would be my preferred choice but yeah, something like that. I'm fine with Mitchell/Hield as well.

I've maintained that the Kings make the most sense as they have redundant players. Simmons could make a huge difference for the Kings.

If he goes out West and they see him once a year, I’ll have that sports hate energy for his first trip back to Philly. After that, it will be let by gones be by gones. But if he stays in the East on a rival or contender like the Celtics, then the hate will just be fueled going forward.
Right. Keep him in the east.

More fun that way.

He's a soft piece of shit so don't worry about him.

I completely agree.

I don’t love the fox/Simmons fit but they have the best pieces to make a trade

I also liked CLE with sexton and mark as pieces of a deal, but with sexton hurt that blows that one up

yeah the Fox/Simmons fit is tricky. And, truth be told, the Kings may be better off trading Fox/Mitchell instead of Hield/Mitchell but they aren't going to do that most likely.

While I do agree that this won't happen, I don't think this is such a crazy thought. Fox is a poor 3 point shooter and not as good a defender as Simmons. They are both on max contracts. You could very easily argue that Simmons would be a better fit for the Kings than Fox is.

Before all this I would agree. Now there is no chance, it doesn't mean they still can't get good return on Simmons bc I absolutely think they can.

Fox is still SAC's #1 though and they covet him highly.

Like I said, I don't think they would trade Fox. The Kings are a weird team because Vivek falls in love with players. He fell in love with Hield and tied Vlad's hands with him.

But after a bright start for the Kings, they are now 5-6. If they are 8-14 in late December, they are going to need to make some tough choices.

I believe Hield will be gone before the deadline.

The optics are that they are unnecessarily antagonizing him to get access to personal medical information they don’t have a right to in order to steal more money from him

lol

Other than Simmons (and apparently, you)...who sees it that way?

The Sixers, as his employer, are rightfully protecting themselves as employers by making sure that he's actually seeking medical attention so that he get back to his job asap. If he is, he gets paid. If he isn't, then he doesn't.

From what I can see, they are just asking for confirmation that he's undergoing treatment, not asking for detailed explanations about what he's potentially diagnosed with or what is discussed in any sessions.

They already had that confirmation

So that is just false

You have some confirmation that the Sixers are asking for the kind of info that you suggested they are trying to get?

No he didn't. All he said was that the Sixers were given the names of the people that Simmons was working with. We don't know anything beyond that.
