So what's your excuse for last night? Colts up big in the 2nd half and the only way the ravens could have came back was by passing. That's a lame excuse. Ravens are even throwing it more this year because they trust Lamar
I never said he didn't have a great game but my whole comment was he is inconsistent and it doesn't work in the playoffs. So far, that is without a doubt a fact. We see it every single year, he lights up teams sometimes for half the season but the best teams have a recipe to stop Lamar. I don't see that magically changing bc of one year. He is also turning the ball over more, this team could EASILY be 2-3 so I'm not sure why you are so high on this team. They are a damn good team but they are every year.

@DJ what do you think of Gruden and this whole thing?
As much as I love him and the Raiders.......he's a total POS. Way worse than originally thought when we all thought it was just 1 email from a long time ago. Carl Nassib came out as the first active gay player before the season started and there's no way we can have Gruden leading us if he truly feels this way.

Not sure why it's always a ST coach who gets the interim gig though......Marinelli has experience as a coach, even if he wasn't very good, and Bradley would have been a better choice IMO.

Shocked at the selection of the interim coach.

The Raiders will be better in the long run though. He was overrated imo, his coaching and style was outdated

Maybe.

The last 2 seasons we were primed to make the playoffs and I think he had a lot to do with that.....but, the defense failed down the stretch both seasons.

I want to see Raiders players reactions to this.

Specifically, Carr......and Nassib.

He had a lot to do with that too. He put together ok teams, but they faded in the 2nd half of season and missed out.

He just isn't a good coach anymore. He was already becoming more tv personality than head coach when he left coaching, because of the whole "Chucky" thing. Him actually becoming a tv personality, kind of put him out of touch with coaching.

Like Shane said...his coaching had become outdated.

I think the Seahawks are going through a similar thing with Pete Carroll (minus the offensive e-mails). He still wants to coach the way he always has, it isn't working anymore and he doesn't have Paul Allen around to reign him in.

I disagree on his coaching. The offense hasn't been an issue the last 2 seasons.

The defense has. And it is better this season.

Pretty lucky but I’ll take it
Man, your guys fucked me last night. Did a deep dive and found that Ravens have covered the first half over 75% of the time in the last 36 games. The Colts meanwhile have been one of the slower starting teams all year with Wentz and that applied to him his last year in Philly too. Ravens -4 1H. Great play! Can’t lose! And then last night happened. FML!

His record as a head coach is 117-112. He's 5-4 in the playoffs and 3 of the wins were from his Super Bowl season. That says he's average at best.

I agree with what Dan Patrick has been saying. Gruden definitely needed to be fired over this, but this was also a "hit" by someone in the NFL offices. No way someone was just perusing old e-mails and came across this.

Also telling is that they released the one about DeMaurice Smith...then, when he didn't resign and the Raiders didn't fire him...they released the rest.

True.

What comes out of the investigation into the WFT will be very interesting.

That's the other thing that DP mentioned....they apparently went through thousands of e-mails and nothing about WFT when there have been all kinds of accusations, etc. against them. But they find this stuff on Gruden who wasn't actually being investigated for anything?

Granted, part of how Daniel Snyder has survived all of that is by just keeping his mouth shut...but hard to believe they found nothing from anyone within the organization.

It makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Get to keep continuity with your OC and DC.

Special teams coach a lot easier to replace
