I really hope Ted Lasso repatriates back to America and coaches some American Football at some point. I think that could easily be a whole season's worth of shows. Maybe has a former soccer player place kicker that he bonds with and realizes futbol is his fave now. Ye gads, whatsa meesa sayin'?

I really like this show, for someone who doesn’t care about soccer it made me interested and that’s surprising. All the main characters are relatable in some way and even the smaller characters gave their charm. Definitely looking forward to season 2.

Yup. Great character development for everyone. Only 1 character who can even be kinda disliked (the young star who got sold back to the big club), and even he was redeemed and you feel for him.

BIG fan of this show and can’t wait for season 2.

I am ok with that. That means the story will be tight and they will have a coherent story throughout.

Meh... probably a good thing... First season was great... and even ended with a decent premise for a season 2... But I am nervous about the season 2 though, because part of the fun was that he was not a good soccer coach, just amazing at getting people to play for him or as for the journalist, just to root for him... if they have prolonged success then he is getting the hang of soccer itself... so, not sure if it would be any good after 2 or three seasons...

I kind of see this show to be like Major league one and 2...

major league 2, there was high expectations, but then they fell, and it was about the climb up... once you do that twice, the third time is going to be boring...

Not necessarily but I do have a feeling they will do it justice

Well it could get a dramatic touch and have him lose his entire team and having to start from scratch again

Very clever, funny show with a lot of heart. Coach Beard is hysterical.

Great character development. You actually care about all the characters. Even the “bad guys”. The owner started as Ted’s foil, but you learned her motivations and you actually cared about what she was doing and why. The prodigy defenseman remained the primary “bad guy”, but when all was said, you understood why he was how he was, and you care for him as well. The groupie girl could have been written as a 1-dimensional slutty moron, but she has depth and she is a core character who evolves and tries to improve her place in life as well.

Didn't realize the owner was Septa Unella from Game of Thrones.

My daughter came here a week ago and she has a link my TV can pick up to a friend of hers. All sorts of shit I really don't care about (comic book shows and movies) but he does have Ted Lasso.

I'd never even heard of it.

But I'm all in. Doesn't need any changes, just fine with him coaching? soccer. Don't see it working the way it is in the States.

Tonight we do episode #2 of Season 2.

I binged S2 over the weekend.

Not half as good as S1, but still decent. All the characters had already had there heart warming developments, so there wasn’t much room for more of that (which explains where they went, I suppose). Tart kinda got some further redemption, but that wasn’t enough to carry the season. The Beard stuff as a whole was disappointing. His bottle episode was WEIRD. I think I need to watch that one again. I have a theory, I just need to see if it stands up.

was the voice of the airline executive that was the team sponsor played by John Cleese? It is an uncredited role, and IMDb doesn’t have any info on the actor.

i agree season 2 was not as good as season one... but it was necessary for the growth of the show... season one was 50% soccer... season 2 the soccer was more background noise... which i think was a good move for this show's future... as now we trust the story elsewhere besides what league they are in...

i do think i missed where the drama between Nate and Ted came from... was Nate's criticism of ted valid in the last episode?? or was he just blinded by power??

i do like though, how season three story line is set up... but i wonder if the girl will be in season three...

He got the taste of glory when he took over for the last 30 seconds of the game and became the “Wonder Kid”. But that was made possible by his talks with Rebecca about building himself up. The whole season was about a kid who had always had the worlds thumb on his head keeping him down. Once he experienced a little success, he didn’t know how to deal with it internally, so he was not able to turn his inner-alpha off.
