All this drama for nothing. What a waste
Unless he is aiming to go the Harden route, and once he gets on the court puts in so little effort that 6ers work to get rid of him. Not paying him while he sits home is not great, paying his full contract to half ass it is worse.

First time he breaks 60 percent from the line I would trade him real quick and in a hurry.

That’s what I said from the beginning.

Butler their training camp

Harden the regular season games

If Morey can convince Simmons that his fastest path out of Philly is playing well, that could get him motivated.

Hearing it from the fans may wind up helping him.

I'll believe it when I see it. He's a coward. I don't think he shows his face around Philly again.

I think coward is a pretty strong word. And I'm not sure it is the most accurate.

He's on the plane now

I would love to know how this all came about. Was this all Simmons being irrational and demanding that Klutch do the impossible? Or did Klutch promise Simmons that they they could get him out of Philly if they followed a clearly flawed strategy?

At least part of it is the latter.

They thought they’d get at least some of the money back

I also think they misread the landscape and didn't expect the fans and the league to be so vehemently against Simmons. They thought it would be more like the Harden or Butler situation where ownership shared the blame.

That's truly amazing if Klutch didn't understand their client was going to potentially lose millions of dollars holding out.

I meant every word. A man who will tell his teammates through his agent not to bother getting on the plane and coming to talk to him is an epic coward. These are your guys you've been through the wars with. That's the stuff of cowards.

As for his reception, I think most of the players will welcome him back. But the fans never will. He will be booed loudly, and will not be able to go out in Philly. He is the most hated man in the city at this point, and may even be the most hated athlete ever in the city, which is really saying something for Philly.

His best hope is that he comes back, shows improvement in his shot, and gets dealt--basically...exact the same as what it was at the end of the playoffs. But make no mistake, he has damaged his value, and more importantly, his reputation, greatly.

If Simmons thought his holdout and trade demand would be received by the press like the Harden saga, he apparently forgot that Harden can shoot the basketball and didn't just piss himself in the playoffs on national television.
