Sounded scripted. I was listening to that interview and then he also talked about the comment he made after they were eliminated about Ben. His original comment was nothing like he was trying to explain in the interview, he should have just admitted his emotions were running high and he misspoke. Looks even worse now but I guess it doesn't matter, that ship has sailed.

Yeah, I get the NBA not wanting tampering to happen. With all of the complaints about "stacked teams" and "collusion by players" (even though players can't actually collude), etc. they are going to be sensitive to anything that feeds that narrative.

But there has to be some common sense. If a reporter asks a question with an obvious answer, the NBA needs to let that go.

A reporter asking a team official what they think of a player and the official giving an answer that basically anyone would give about how good that player is or saying they won't be pursuing that player (if asked), should not be considered tampering.

Agreed! Shit, I'm trying to figure out what value they have for Simmons (defensive identity?). It seems like their offense playing through Jokic is one of the best in the league. Not sure how Simmons fits in all that. But to your point, I only have the balls to hope for one, not both of those guys. They immediately go to numbers 2 and 3 on my list under McCollum for non-Beal or Dame guys in a Simmons trade. Who am I kidding? Sixers will get Kevin Love and picks and buy him out.
