Since I am posting this just before week 2, I just want to get the thoughts of this forum where each of the receivers is headed?

Here are the results for week 1 for the WR and TE.
Winston was one of the top QB, with 5 TD.
But he only attempted 20 passes.

Trautman led all receivers with 6 targets.
Harris led all receivers with 72 yards, but that was on 2 catches.
Juwan Johnson tied Trautman for the team lead (non-RB) with 3 receptions. Two of those going for TD.
Callaway was heralded as the heir to Michael Thomas' target-share. But he only had 2 targets and 1 catch.

Was Winston's production a fluke based on volume?
Get this - 30 QB attempted more passes in week 1 than Winston, which is every other starting QB expect the Fitzpatrick/Heinicke combo.

Does Winston come back down to earth in week 2?
Does Callaway live up to expectations?
Is Juwan the new redzone target?

They had a weirdass game script last week. As the season goes on, I expect them to throw it more than they did. Callaway got a lot of the Winston looks in the preseason, I think that will eventually happen in the season as well. Harris likely to have that big play chance every game but could end up being a boom/bust type week to week because of it.

Come back down to Earth? Yes. Nobody puts up five TD consistently.

Not interested in any of them. Trautman, I guess.

Hard to trust any of them to produce weekly. Feel there are better options to chase.

Part of the issue was gameflow...after the TD to go up 24-3 near the end of the third, he only attempted on pass in the next 4 series...which was the long TD.

But up until then, it was pretty balanced..much more balanced than anything Winston has ever been a part of.

So in a game where they dominated from basically start to finish he was averaging 6-7 PA per quarter before they shut it down. That's 24-28 he "shouldve" had.

I have to assume that going forward, they're not going to be able to go easy in the third, nor shut it down in the 4th, and those PA's will be closer to 8-10 a quarter, 32-40..

And I still think Callaway is "the guy" of the WR's, Packers corners are legit, especially Alexander, it may very well have been Callaway was simply the guy they targeted to take away, allowing the others to accumulate some #'s

The only non-RB I am touching is Thomas and he is likely on someone’s bench in every league. If I am Kamara owner I am pretty happy overall but I highly doubt the final product will be 20 pass attempts and 5 TD’s. One of those very rare games and being up big then basically throwing only in the RZ is very strange

Well let me clarify regarding Jameis "coming down to earth."

A paltry 20 pass attempts.
Only 14 completions.
A meager 148 yards passing.

His efficiency was thru the roof getting 5 TD out of this.
Without the TD he is looking at 5 fantasy points. (8 if you include his rushing.)

It may be a given that the TD come down. But do the passing yards go up?

Of course he's not throwing 5 TD's very often.

And again, I highly doubt they have many games where they dominate the entire game, so yes I fully expect attempts and yards to go up.

In addition, I can't imagine 20 rushing attempts from Kamara last very long either. He's only had one other game his entire career where he had 20 or more attempts, that 6 td game in week 17

Technically 3 out of 4, 2 In a row last year, week 17, first playoff game and then week 1 this year. One little outlier vs TB.

Sure ok, run him 20 times for awhile. Enjoy T. Jones as your starter by week 8

I don’t think 20 carries every game is a good idea.

20 + touches though?

Hell yeah.

Down by 17 at the half...Winston with 7 attempts, that's gonna have to change

Well, after 2 games, with pretty much opposite gameflows...

Upon further review- IMHO, Peyton obviously has ZERO desire to see Winston throwing the ball any more than absolutely necessary.

Unrelated Side note...and we thought Taysom Hill would be the QB stealing rushing TD's

Baffling, with the arm jameis has. But their supporting cast is abysmal

259 passing yards for Winston thru 2 weeks.
Sounds like a Bears passing stat line. :L

dont get the gameplan with his arm. But his supporting cast is the worst in the league, maybe better than lions?

tough to hold any Saints WRs in redraft at this point. lots of better options to both stash and flex, give me Hollywood and Bateman if I'm going to bank on a low-volume passing attack, lol
