I didn’t really doubt heiny. I doubted the defense and Oline after the first game. I thought heiny deserved a chance. Still very worried about his durability and high throws though

I think his high throws were nerves because he was jacked to get the start and this can be corrected in practice. Now as far as his durability I don't know since the strength of his game is staying on the move.

The int was not good. It wasn't all his fault however - Terry Mac had to compensate for the giants defender in front of him. It wasn't for example, like the time when Cousins threw into triple coverage, at the end of the season with the playoffs on the line, which the giants easily intercepted, thus eliminating the Redskins from playoff contention.

:trash:
It was all his fault. At the same time, he showed the ability to forget about it and focus on the task at hand which was a good thing.

We need to see more but he sure looks like a gamer. Worried about injury too. I have said all along I have my doubts but would be happy to see him succeed. Need more games.

I agree we need a larger sample of games to determine what we have with TH. Normally mobile QBs don't last too long in the NFL unless your name is Russell Wilson.

Me and my brother were wondering if the high throws had anything to do with his lack of height and trying to get the ball over the D Line. We weren't sure.

It's one game guys and against a Giants team that was soundly beaten by the Broncos. I fully admit the Heinicke played well, far better than I expected him to do. Hopefully, he's able to do the same as the competition gets tougher. I'll take the hit for now and perhaps it will be a permanent mark on my record and I'll have to report to the board of reasonable thought for further punishment. Just remember, one game does not make a season, nor a career. Bask in the results of a really good game everyone, I know that after attending the game last night, the atmosphere was electric and I'm still feeling it!

You and I both are well aware of the schedule we are facing where we will be listed as underdogs in many of them. Just remember I predicted only one more win for us than you predicted and I don't think we will be too far off at the end of the season. With that said, I hope we will both be wrong.

Did we actually have some electricity in the building last night? What was the approximate percentage of blue jerseys in the building?

I'm not sure either but I think nerves played a part in his high throws. Maybe TH should give Drew Brees a call if height is a problem because Drew was short and he didn't throw many that were too high during his career.

You could hear you guys through the TV. You could hear the Giants fans at times too, but that was the best I've heard FedEx in a while. Not saying much but I was proud.
There were a lot of Giants fans there, I'd say about 25,000 out of approximately 40,000 total in attendance. Almost everyone was in the lower bowl, that is except those of us in suites. Many seats still boxed off in the upper decks and from what I could tell, just a scattered few up there, add drunk and high (I hate the smell of that stink weed that folks are smoking) and it got pretty damned loud. There were no fights that we could see or take note of and to his credit no water falling on the heads of customers.

SN: Son-in-law and grandson were with me...Grandson's first live game and he was thrilled (He's 10). I wouldn't trade that experience with him for anything in the world. Good times, lasting memories!

I'd say approximately 25,000 out of an approximate 40+ thousand in attendance. Electricity, absolutely, although I'm not sure how much alcohol and stinkweed played into it. That said, you could feel the enthusiasm and fervor from both sides. Competing calls for offense and defense was a bit strange considering Washington was the "home" team. In the end "luck" won out and everyone in Burgundy and Gold went home happy. Giants fans were pissed, cursing and a little combative as we hit the exits and headed towards the parking lots. No fights though.

"Sty is dead wrong!" Yeah, let's get his ass! Anybody got a rope? ... Oh wait!

I demanded mercy for you.
Not sure what will happen if TH in just his 2nd start, this year...wins again.

Now everyone knows that we're rooting against ourselves in as much as predictions go. We can't be all willy-nilly in openly offering this sort of information... some of those asking one or both of us to turn in our fan card might give some wicked side-eye knowing that we're true devotees!!

Your grandson will always remember that it was you who took him to his first game and an NFL game at that.

I said in another post that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good and lucky is what we were last night.

Here's an idea, Have Hopkins represent the group and be responsible for hunting me down, then hide me dead center on the cross-bars at Fed-Ex field. Pretty sure under that circumstance I'd be really safe! :D

Oh please!

Sty thought that heinicke was hot garbage, and the game last night proves he is not.

The seals jones td was his third read.
He audibled out of a pass play to the mckissic td.
He shook off his int to lead a productive, effective two minute drive.

When was the last time you could say that about any washington quarterback?

When defenses “get film” on TH, is that going to prevent him from going through hos progressions correctly, audibling out of a play into a better one, or shaking off mistakes?

You and I both know thag this guy has some serious moxie - at least the most serious case of moxie since cousins.

Wanna wait a few games? Fine.

Sty was still dead wrong though. Admit it.

You're right and I get the enthusiasm for Heinicke that comes from a fan base that's desperately hungry for a long term answer at the position. ANY QB that answers the call must be proven and not anointed. Heinicke has this opportunity, I'm fairly certain that he'll perform well two weeks from now against Atlanta. The true tests will be against Buffalo next week, Saints, Chiefs, Packers, Broncos, and Bucs. They will all have "film" on him.

If memory serves, we were behind when KC had to make a throw. It was a completely different situation.

We are both right. Here’s the play:

The skins were down by 3 approaching midfield with about 2 minutes left, needing the win to secure a playoff spot.

So he needed to move the chains, but didnt need to throw that awful pick.

On the other hand, he didnt throw it in to triple coverage, but he also should have seen DRC in position to jump the route, especially since nobody else was around.

The interception ended the redskins season though.
Even Joe Buck agrees.

Nonsense, I still say that Heinicke isn't an NFL starting caliber level player. He's proven NOTHING... yet, and comparing him to Cousins is an admission that he's absolutely limited. All I ask is that we don't confuse competent (like Cousins) with having an answer at QB. Hell, Daniel Jones is competent and under fire for NOT being what the folks in NY knows is the answer. If accidentally winning a playoff berth, playoff game, or that rare SB that rarely happens with these type of guys, is what some want, have at it, I'm after being in the conversation, actually winning year after year, and multiple SB's.
