The Kings needed defense and IMitchell provides that.

Baseball is broken from that standpoint.
And yet, the big spenders don't win all the time...the playoffs are so random that teams like the Royals and Nats and Cubs and Astros and Giants and whomever win all the time and the Yankees and Dodgers don't win more than the others (in the last 20+ years I mean)

I do with they could find a luxury tax and salary floor system like the NBA has but I doubt they ever get to that

Don't disagree that you have a team like the Royals (the others don't totally fit that persona) but even when the Royals win they have to mortgage the farm afterwards.

Salary floor is a must along with more controls to bring teams a little closer in spending. Not saying a cap necessarily although I think the players would actually very surprised with the cap system netting them more money in the end.

I mean yeah every now and again but the Dodgers the last couple years have been on a rampage. Betts, Turner, Scherzer, Bauer, treinen…their payroll is out of control. My point is the last half decade it’s been out of control other than those Yankee teams forever.

Something needs to change

the floor is why it’ll never happen.

the NBA floor is 90% below the cap.

in mlb that would mean every team would need to spend 185m

that Ain’t happening lol

Um, ok I guess they can only do it with a 90% floor, good catch. So much for the floor idea.

I mean they could do less. But mlbpa wouldn’t agree to cap when other teams are spending 50m on their payroll
