Otto Graham was putting up 100 passer ratings in the 40's.

I don't care about all that, bottom line.......only Rodgers had a better passer rating than Wilson.

Montana had a 112 passer rating in 1989.

..and this is what you do. When someone points out a flaw in your analysis, you rattle off some irrelevant anecdotal statistics that have fuck all to do with the point made. Also Graham, as great as he was, was playing against the JV in the 40s.

What I actually do is know the history of the sport and know BS when I see it. Botton line is only Rodgers has a higher passer rating than Wilson if talking those with nine seasons.

Dude, when I was talking yards, you....oh no not yards.

You mentioned passer rating now seeing Wilson has the second highest....oh no not passer rating.

What is your problem?

What I said was that a 4000 yard season was no longer a big deal in the age of Russ Wilson and that passer rating can also not be compared with other OBs not of Wilson's era.

So if you want to say that Wilson has the best career of any QB drafted since 2012 (not including Patrick Mahomes), I agree. But comparing his stats to QBs that were drafted prior to Wilson, results in an inept analysis. Do you get it now??????????????

So if just talking Passer Rating, only Rodgers compares to Wilson when talking nine seasons.

I haven;t done the homeork yet but am guessing Wilsons TD/INT ratio is about as good as we have seen in those first nine seasons.

And, would guess his rushing yards are among the best ever.

How could anyone try to battle this isn't a very special QB?
Well if were only using specific windows both Mahomes and Watson have better ratings than Wilson and Rodgers since 2017.

Peyton vs Wilson

Both never missed a game, both 7 pro bowls, about the same comp%, Peyton more yards, Wilson by far a better TD/INT ratio. Peyton threw a TON of picks a TON, passer rating goes to Wilson as does the rushing ....obviously.

Wilson an A- really?
Pro-bowl reserve is obviously A-.

His low INTs are A+, second only to Rodgers, really. (He'd have to throw 145 more TDs against only 8 picks to catch up, so he'll always be behind unless Rodgers turns into a pick machine at the end of his career.)

His passing TDs are A-. His passing yardage is B+, maybe. His accuracy is A. His rushing yardage and TDs are both borderline A. His sacks are more like a D and his fumbles like a C-.

He's already three-quarters of the way to the all-time sacked record - and that's the only passing record he'll ever hold.

If he has another nine years like the ones he had, with another SB title, he has a good chance (but not a lock) to make the HOF.

I am going to ask you a question, of all the QB's in the history of pro football what QB was more impressive than Russell Wilson in their first nine seasons?

So who ya got?

Unless his game totally falls apart, he is already a lock for the Hall of Fame. Doesn't need another SB win. He just plays like he does and he is in.

For @RaZon

Of course I'd think a guy who's watched the NFL for 70 years would already know this.

Idk, but Marino and Unitas for sure off the top of my head.

So how much do we put into Unitas having Hall of Famers Lenny Moore, Ray Berry, John Mackey to throw to, all Hall of Famers?

Mark Clayton, Mark Duper had over 1000 catches, over 16,000 yards, then there was Tony Nathan, one of the best pass catching RB's in football for Marino.

We always hear.....Wilson had BEASTMODE, LEGION OF DOOM, what he didn't have was anyone like what Unitas and Marino had to throw to,

Then you get why you can't fairly compare players from the pre 2006, and even more so for players beyond that.

There are scrubs today putting up better numbers than many of the best QB's in history.

I'll say it again. If in your personal opinion Wilson is the greatest I'm good with it, but get off of the stats as a determining factor because we all know the game has changed to much to do so.

To me Marino is the best, Montana the smartest although it pains me to say this Rodgers and Manning can both give Joe a run for his money in that category.

Imagine Marino or Fouts playing with todays rules.

How a player is perceived in their day is why I bring up pro bowls.

We can't ignore a guys comp% in any era, or his TD/INT ratio, or those rushing yards.

Wilson walked right in and took over, he has never missed a game. And I can't.....just ignore his stats.....huh????

Both Marino and Fouts were blessed with great receivers around them, hell....Mark Clayton, Mark Duper, Tony Nathan, Kellen Winslow, Charlie Joiner, John Jefferson, Wes Clayton. Imagine Wilson with the guys Marino and Fouts had.

Largent an all time great, Baldwin could play, Lockett ok, but as a whole that is pretty weak compared to what other teams can list. Wilson hasn't had the besr weapons and still puts up the numbers he does.

Sherman Smith a converted college QB to RB, number 12, ouch!

Almost every QB in the HOF has either been a first-team All-Pro or a multiple SB champ. The only exception is Moon, who got some credit for his five Grey Cups. Wilson will need a little boost, I think.
