I’m wondering if country or gekoka can find one example of one nfl player that ever had an epileptic seizure during a game, period. I’m not talking about something that happened as a result of getting hit, though I am certain that those are extremely rare too , I’m talking about a person with epilepsy seizing out during an nfl game.

I bet you won’t be able to find a single one.

It’s just a stupendously dumb thing to worry about in this day and age. Just fucking stupid.

You seem to think I am saying it is likely. I am saying it is possible and common sense would state a person with a neurological condition is a higher risk on the football field.

Now am I worried about him having issues on the field? Not really. He is a big boy and knows the risks. As an organization, there are other risks to be worried about. Fields would be an investment of a draft pick and millions of dollars in guaranteed money.

My take on this is country was not trying to be a jerk. It is up to each team who has the chance to draft Fields whether this is a consequential to their decision to draft him or not. Anyone interested should have a team doctor or specialist research his medical history. It may well never be a problem.

There are way too many people deciding what a person means when they don't really know. It seems to me that country said on more than one occasion he did not mean what some of you interpreted.

Isnt practically ANYTHING possible? It’s possible that a lightning could strike a player and they could die.

It’s more likely that a player might drop dead from an aneurysm in the middle of a play, due to a disclosed or undisclosed condition.

Anybody who knows somebody with epilepsy has every right to be at least a little bit annoyed at country’s idiocy. It’s simply not how epilepsy or seizures work.

Finally, every team has every right to not draft Fields because of his condition.

Personally, I wouldnt draft him because Ohio State qb’s tend to suck in the pros. Bad track record.
