My take on this is country was not trying to be a jerk. It is up to each team who has the chance to draft Fields whether this is a consequential to their decision to draft him or not. Anyone interested should have a team doctor or specialist research his medical history. It may well never be a problem.

There are way too many people deciding what a person means when they don't really know. It seems to me that country said on more than one occasion he did not mean what some of you interpreted.
Yeah, it may have been a little callous, but I don't think country meant anything terrible by it and truth be told. He's more on point than some of us will admit. That said, it wouldn't have hurt to read the article before commenting either.

I'm just hoping that Snyder stays out of it and spends his time somewhere else.
What happens if Snyder stays out and Washington moves up to draft their QB? Plenty of folks have already stated their objection to such a move and at that point will have no reason not to believe that once again Danny has stepped in and pulled a Griffin.

Not that he was college player knowledgeable when the Skins drafted Griffin or Haskins. But I haven't seen or read about any player this year that has garnered the kind of buzz. That it would take for Snyder to get involved in this year's draft. I'm not gonna bet my left nut that Snyder keeps his nose out of this draft, but I think this is RR's baby this year.

RR has the balls to resign if Snyder steps in. That's the difference.

I feel pretty sure that RR already has his butt covered in talks with Snyder about what is allowed and what is not allowed on draft night which might mean Snyder has already read the riot act to RR even if he stays away on draft night.

I don't disagree, but I would've said the same thing about Shanny as well. Factor in that the only thing that makes sense about naming Haskins opening day starter last year is cuz Snyder wanted it to be that way.

Shanny Sr's ego was way too big to resign. All he cared about was wins. RR has his dignity.

Ron was Gibbs' guy. I think that buys Rivera autonomy for this draft at least.

True or false, I believe that if/when Washington moves up to draft a QB, all bets are off and there's going to be a lot of finger pointing, most of it at Snyder for two reasons.
1. People hate the idea of moving up, they call it mortgaging the future.
2. Snyder has no latitude regarding benefit of doubt and will be the fallback for those seeking to explain a move that they hate.

1) Generally speaking I believe this is true. Fans love moving back and picking up picks. Giving up multiple picks to move up, not so much. Add in the Skins recent track record with moving up for a QB and just the experience with QBs in general. I'd say particularly true for Skins fans.

2) No he does not nor does he deserve any. That said, if a move wasn't his. And with that said. I can't imagine too many Skins are happy that he not only retained the team, he gained complete n total control of the team. Either the NFL is conducting the most in-depth, deep dive, probing investigation into all the bullshit Snyder has been accused of or allowed to happen. Or the investigation is not only over, it never began in the first place.

What else should a coach care about?
I think there were a couple of different things going on with Mike Shanahan, I think he wanted to win and to prove Dan and Bruce wrong. Griffin helped prove Dan to be wrong and Cousins helped prove Mike knew more. I think that is why Cousins isn't here anymore. The hand picked golden child was a bust while Mike's hand picked guy was. I think it became like many of the posts here, and endless battle to prove who was right.

I think Mike wanted to further Kyle's career and I think he accomplished.

I am ok if we swap 1st’s maybe give up a future one and maybe a couple of 2’s (one ) but that’s it .you can’t build much cheaply with 3/4 pick drafts

This quote is right on. However, I don't think RGIII was a bust, he (was) a superior athlete trying to play the QB position and Shanny Sr ruined his career. Would he have been a top notch QB of the future? Not sure because the knee was put through a meat grinder.

It’s something I don’t really like because if you miss you are burnt for 3 yrs. however if it isn’t done in desperation I won’t all out bash it like the CDC trade

Seriously? It is a job. As a human, the coach should have a basic care. Does he care like you are referring and should he? Nope.
Sorry, was a bit direct. Wins/Losses get you fired. Players win games.
