Well, we did it and that's all that matter - - really wasn't keen in paying that price for IDP but hey, I needed upgrade there and it's Wil and Sammy by golly, Pleasure fellows. ....

You know I just went back and scrolled through the pages of this league from last year and I know the season was all fucked up and none of us thought that the NFL would even complete the season so a lot slipped through the cracks. I know that everybody here knows that @SmokingMonkey won the title last year, but just so everybody can remember, he started off the year 0-4. He fought back to get the #6 seed in the last week of the season and then caught fire in the playoffs to win the championship. That really is a highly impressive season Monkey and I think you deserve more kudos than we gave you last year. To start off 0-4 against this fantasy football talent and still win the championship is a great accomplishment. Well done!!

Alright guys, the commissioners have debated on this and since we were supposed to go back down to 25 at the end of the year and we all forgot about it and let everybody float until now, we are all going to have to get back down to 25 by the start of the NFL draft which is Thursday the 29th. I know that's going to suck for some of us, but that's how the rules were set up originally and the only reason we floated the 30 was because of COVID last year. Now once your roster is down to 25 by next Thursday the 29th and we are all compliant, after the NFL draft is completed on Saturday there will be a waiver period for you to pick up all non-rookies (rookies will be available in the player pool also, but please don't put in for a rookie because they are only available during the draft) which will process on Tuesday night May 4th, and then once waivers clear we will have a two day period of free agency where anybody can pick up any non-rookie player. Friday, May 7th at 6:00pm all of the rosters will lock for adding players (you will still be able to drop players or trade) until our draft starts Sunday night May 9th at 6:00pm. The way the draft is going to work is online on Fantrax's site, but you will have a 24 hour clock to make your pick. You can still make trades through the Fantrax site even during the draft but you won't be able to add or drop any players once the draft has started. Once your roster is at 30 (the max) in order to make another pick you will have to announce on the message board which player you would like drop and one of us will make the drop for you and then you can make your pick. At the start of our draft everybody needs to at least have enough space to make their picks for the first three rounds of the rookie draft. With 30 man rosters I can't really see any scenario that any picks will be skipped before the 4th round so please make sure you have enough space to at least get us through the first 36 picks. Once the draft has started, we will all still post updates on here with the picks that have been made and feel free to negotiate any trades here during the draft and we will let everybody know when they are on the clock. Any questions, fire away and we'll be happy to answer. I will tell you that is the way we have done the rookie/free agent draft in my league for the last several years and I know you probably think that it will take forever with a 24 hour clock, but it really doesn't. Last year my league's draft started on Sunday May 17th at 6:00pm and by Monday at midnight we were midway through the 3rd round.

Okay I know this is all confusing because we aren't really supposed to be at 30 right now. We should be at 25 because that's the roster max for the season but we waived that last year because of COVID. To answer your question, yes you have to get down to 25 now. No you will not have to drop somebody in order to pick somebody up off of waivers, you can just add them which would make 26 because the roster limits will go back up to 30 once everybody is compliant with the 25. You just can't add more players off of waivers or free agency than you are planning on using in the draft. So you are at 25 and you add a player off of waivers which puts you at 26. You have 5 draft picks which means you can make all of your picks up to the 5.9. If you think you might not use either of your 5th rounders, then you can add another free agent which will put you at 27 before the draft, then you could make your 1.12, 4.6, and 4.10 picks which would put you at 30. At that point if there is somebody that you still want to draft that is available and you want to use your 5.6 to draft somebody you would need to let us know which player you want to drop first before you would be allowed to make that pick.

That's because you only have three. You must always maintain a starting lineup which means you will always have to carry:

1 quaterback
2 running backs
2 wide receivers
1 tight end
1 kicker
3 IDP's
