I'm just bitter that they more than likely could have resigned Tanaka for roughly what they've flushed down the toilet for Kluber
We’ve said that for a looong time. The Kluber/Taillon combo needed to break perfectly in order for it to work. They are both healthy, at least, but neither can give you 4 innings. Kluber looked particularly cooked today. Remember Paul Byrd? That’s who he reminded me of(and that’s not a good thing).

I say it every time but Devers please cut down on your damn swing! You'll get more hits. You don't need to hit a home run every time
Hey, Devers isn’t on here telling YOU how to post better, is he? I think he’s doing just fine.

Was Kluber really that bad today? Didn't see the game as I was at work.

I just looked at the play by play on ESPN. After the first 2 hits of the 3rd, it looked like he settled down nicely to finish that inning and had good 4th as well. I would have gave him another inning. At least make him start the 5th. He was at 77 pitches so he could have gotten us 5. These manages are quick to pull pitchers. In what world in asking your pen for 4-5 innings b2b games a good thing? If you can Kluber to give you 5 or 5+ then you take it.

Seeing how bad Kluber and Taillon was this time around, it may be a good decision to split those guys up instead of them start B2B. Put Montgomery after Kluber. Can't have these 2 out here pitching for a total of 8 innings. That will kill the pen

9 baserunners in 4 innings. 2 homers. No velocity. Yeah. It was bad.

He’s made 3 starts and has only pitched 10.1 innings. He’s also walked 7 already. Vintage Corey Kluber led the league in BB/9 TWICE. So this version of Kluber is a mess.

As Joe Girardi used to say: “It’s not what you want”.

He might be...

He is doing fine, I think he could be doing better with a few tweeks but hey Red Sox are winning he seems to be heating up at the dish. All is good

Red Sox starters have gone 5+innings in 11 of the 12 games this season. The pitching staff has allowed 3 earned runs or less in 9 of the 12 games.

His fastball was topping out at 88 mph. And he couldn't throw the breaking ball for strikes with any consistency.

Not a good recipe for success in the big leagues.

Not a good thing at all.

I'm still scratching my head wondering how the FO thought this was a good plan.

$11M/1 year

Not as bad as I had thought.. Still plenty of time for him to turn it around

What's the word on Tailleson? Should I drop him?

When you consider they let Tanaka walk (a guy who you knew would at least give you the innings), it's pretty bad.

Taillon is the reverse, can't throw the fastball for strikes, so they sit on his breaking stuff

Yeah that is true. Was he wanting more than $11 mil?

Sorry to interrupt, judge still in 2 slot, coming to the plate more than half the time with no one on base?

gleyber, offense diminished since taking over at SS?

ahhhhh why bother!!

carry on...

Look on the bright side: if the bases are empty, he can’t ground into a DP.

He wanted to play for the Yankees. Cashman wanted to show him the door.

Racist Cashman!!

Kidding aside.. I really wish we knew the reason he wasn't resigned
