PL is now a UFA
No right of first refusal
Denver rescinded the tag
My guess is Philip asked for this and Paton gave him his wish. I think that kind of thing that will endear him to the locker room, and will help in attracting future free agents.

Benjamin Albright said that is one of the factors in the team picking up Von's option was he wanted to remain a Bronco. He did not site a source, so hard to know where he got that from.

If he continues to pay the guys that we draft and perform (Simmons) will help too.

Von is the source.

I really want to re-sign Demarcus Walker... He isn't a star or anything like that, but I think every team needs a player like Walker.... He fits in our rotation nicely and can get pressure on the QB.

I was think that same thing - along with J. Attaochu

I would like Walker, but would it make more sense to draft another guy as a cost controlled option? Walker is not going to be overly expensive, but will still be more then a rookie.

Attaochu would be fine, but would not be upset if there is a guy in the draft that we bring in to provide depth and maybe can be an insurance policy in case Von leaves after this season.

In most cases - I'd rather play the veterans I mentioned above than rookies. It all depends on price - however - I just think Walker and Attaochu can be signed at club friendly deals.

We only have so many draft picks. Can't think that way with every position... You my friend are a cheap skate. ;)

Walker won't cost much...

Why draft an unproven guy on day 3 in hopes he can replace Walker when you have Walker already in which he won't likely cost a ton?

Fuller could still be traded
Large cap number
That’s how Hudson went down

Just saw that report. Ian Rapoport says Fuller was announced as released but still could end up a Rodney Hudson like trade.

Oddly, it seems to be happening this year a bit. Miami announced they released Kyle Van Noy and then a day later said he was on the trade block then the next day released him. Apparently Fuller was announced as released but is not official.

I would think the Packers would have to be considered a possibility for Kyle Fuller as well. They signed him to an offer sheet a few years ago when the Bears matched. I bet the Bears would rather him end up on Denver.

There is a lot of money to be spent in the next couple of years, and yes the salary cap will go up, but so will salaries. The list of guys that I hope we can keep most of:
  • Von - He is such a big part of the Broncos, I hope he doesn't go to another team
  • Chubb
  • Sutton
  • Fant
  • DreMont Jones
  • Lock (Hopefully he take a leap this year)
  • Alexander Johnson
If Lock doesn't become the guy we may be able to trade for Watson.

We are talking about Demarcus Walker here. If you can't re-sign a guy like Walker because you want to go the cheap route in the draft then we might as well become the Florida Marlins of the NFL. Demarcus Walker's 1/2 year contract isn't going to stop us from signing big free agents. How are you going to field a competitive team not signing guys like Demarcus Walker??? Walker's contract shouldn't prevent us from forking out big money to other free agents. I'm sorry but if we are gonna have an issue signing rotational DL's like Demarcus Walker then we are in trouble and not spending our money wisely.

The rumor is the Chargers are also interested in Kyle Fuller.
