Its not too surprising but with all of the mistakes the Chiefs made they could've lost to the Jets or the Lions. Just bad football. No chance to beat the Bucs playing like that.
and Reid was Reid with clock mismanagement end of half. someone should have told him this Brady guy is pretty good and if they are gonna run out the clock KC should let them.

No need for anything resembling in-depth analysis here.

Chiefs backup o-line got run over by the other teams' DL starters.

That's about it.

31 pts is not an insurmountable score if Mahomes can do something besides run for his life every snap.

I still think Mahomes is great, but does seem like he relies on hitting wide open receivers. Reid and his weapons do not get the credit they deserve when he plays well.
I think the reaction probably should be how thoroughly overrated Mahomes' surrounding cast is outside of Hill and Kelce (and Reid), if anything.

I think I'm with Moose here and its the other way around. Mahomes is pretty amazing, Kelce and Hill are good, and everyone else that was playing on offense is basically replacement level.

It seemed very clear from the opening bell that the Chiefs were depleted, injured and just not 100%. Mahomes was hurt, his o-line was basically all backups, and that meant the defense was going to be on the field all night, which they were not used to.

Disagree. The Chiefs' offense scores quickly when it's fresh & healthy. They don't grind down the clock and keep their D on the sideline. Their average TOP in the regular season was 30 minutes. Last night it was 28 minutes. Fact is, KC's D got whooped. TB's offense had them on a string all night.

That's comical.....yeah, outside of the 2 potential HOFers he throws to. Hilarious.

admittedly I'm usually of the belief QBs make the receivers, but Hill and the speedsters are usually running free for easy pitch and catch throws. You even mentioned, I believe, some wide open guys Mahomes missed yesterday among his so-called replacement level guys.

Take a guy like Baker for whom there is a far different narrative. He played a game in hurricane like elements against LV. actually played well and had a number of drops (2 in EZ). Played fairly well against the Jets all things considered and he actually did have replacement level receivers. Every one of them. He took a lot of the blame for both losses. Oh, and was missing starters on the line in both games, as well.

Just shows once a guy has a narrative on him it's tough to change it (good or bad).

and, no, not saying baker is on mahomes level....though he did play like it second half of this season.

“Right now we’re just chasing Jordan,” Hill said. “I’m saying seven (championships).”

I wonder if Tyreek cares to recalibrate this thought.

Lose a Super Bowl and now everyone except those two are trash... Did I read this correctly?

I don't think that's the case, but certainly some areas on both sides of the ball are gonna have to be addressed...

Every team can say this though. If there was a team that doesn't need to address it as much (except now OL if they remain hurt) it would be the Chiefs imo

Meh, this is just a knee jerk reaction on my part, so take it for what it's worth, but if I were calling the shots I'd look into o-line upgrades for sure, LB and DE pass rush specialists, and maybe look into replacing part time Sammy Watkins. just my 2cents, though...

I can see the OL with it's injuries (clearly killed them) but people are claiming the Chiefs Offense is shit after one bad game.. Granted the biggest game of the season but still. Hell Hill (I believe it was him) dropped a huge pass where Mahomes scrambled, falling down threw sideways about 100 mph right to Hill in end zone and drop

I'm with you as far as essentially throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Health and some tweaks on both sides of the ball and we should be OK. We'll see how it goes, though...
