I see talk of us in the running for Watson. While it would be smart to move him out of the AFC, i don't think he's crazy about our culture here, although it appears to be improving. now if we can trade the same bag of chips arizona used for Hopkins....to get Watson......i'm all for it.

so we play football for 1 year now and its it ? those 2 firsts will be big when the time comes . stop thinking short term

RR went after Stafford hard which proves your theory wrong. They are in win now mode. Multiple picks were offered for him.

We could offer Hou players for Watson. Two 1s, and two 3's. Plus Allen.

I just have a hard time seeing how we beat other team's offers without including Chase. I don't want to trade Chase, but I do believe if he was in the offer, Watson would be a Redskin.

We had the best offer for Stafford as far as this year draft picks. rams only gave Detroit a 3rd this year.

I understand that, but everyone is going to offer EVERYTHING if Watson is put on the trading block. Remember, i was the one who said its going to take a 1st plus when a lot of people on this board laughed at me and were talking 2nd and 3rd round pick nonsense in regard to Stafford.

True, I dont understand how Houston has any leverage b/c Watson wants out. If they don't trade him he will sit out the season. So i say we could get him for two 1's and a player.

Its would be like the Seahawks deciding to put Russell Wilson on the trading block tomorrow. Imagine what the Seahawks could fetch for that. Watson is 25 and Wilson is 32.

Its not really about leverage. Once the bidding war starts, the price will skyrocket.

My list at this point

1. Watson...depending on the price
2. Carr...if available
3. A mixed bag of Cam, Darnold, Fitz, J. Winston, trade up for Wilson or Lance.

Other than that I roll with Alex, Allen, Heinicke, and draft or sign a MLB, corner and really build a defense that will allow us to be in games with what we have.

Why would Watson be worth all of this?

2 First rounders, 2 second rounders and 2 defensive players is not a realistic offer.

The Texans have zero leverage.

Wait them out for their price to drop.

The leverage will come when everyone is bidding. The Lions announced they were trading Stafford and look what they got.

If we are in the “win now “ mode I can only assume winning a super bowl is what you mean .
now all kings men and all the kings horses can believe that a 7 win team should be in a super bowl win now mentality .

i believe we aren’t on that level yet . I don’t believe we are a super bowl team yet

We didn’t have the best offer or else he would be in DC . It doesn’t matter the year dean they get 2 1st round picks for the next 2 years and a Super Bowl qb and 2x Pb qb .

  • Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the Panthers offered the Lions the No. 8 overall pick plus a "later" selection for Matthew Stafford.

Per Breer, the Washington Football Team also offered the No. 19 pick plus a third-rounder. NBC's Peter King reports at least one other team offered a first-rounder. Teams were coming hard in the paint for a player a week shy of his 33rd birthday, one who has had some injury issues creep up over the past two years. Despite his question marks, it cannot be debated that Stafford's talent is a plane higher than Jared Goff's.
