Someone who has not been borderline obese their entire career and doesn't strike me in the least as tough. If I could compile a list of not tough actresses who I could least likely see in this role id have got to QL pretty quick.

Or the fact I haven't see a single performance of her I felt impressed with

Well she is not overweight now she's lost a lot of weight and she grew up in a pretty tough part of Newark NJ so she damn sure isn't soft. I think she was pretty good in Set it off, The Bone Collector and a few others but hey maybe some people are just a little more open minded than you?

I think myself (at least) is just more thrown off by her because of her most recent roles in movies... She hasn't played (except for the ones you mentioned) the roles of a tough women very often so we can really only associate her with comedy

Not sure anyone is claiming it will be amazing but the adults at least want to see for themselves and not pass judgement before even viewing it.

I'm willing to give her a shot as I mentioned we already have this "bias" towards her.. Personally I think she can do whatever she wants and more power to her, it's just weird seeing her in this type of role. Just like seeing Tyler Perry being a serious actor in that movie he did where he was a cop or something like that. I couldn't get past him being a comedic writer/actor for the most part but he was pretty good in it

I am not rooting against her I just think it's an absurd choice and given the fact that she's the EP it just makes it clear why she was the choice.

I don't think if this show was produced by anyone else does she get chosen for this.

Just my opinion. Maybe it will succeed. Good for her if it does. I still won't watch it lol

Nothing to do with race or gender for me at all. Like I said Watchmen was solid.
