In a League with No Injuries (Friendly Debate)

What if there were no concussions? What if there were no ACL or MCL tears? What if Rick Dipietro played?

I was thinking about a scenario in which there were no injuries and all of the top talent was able to finish out each season in perfect health. If we go back five years, would we still have crowned the same Stanley Cup champions or would history have changed?

I'd like to hear who, in your opinion, would have finished at the top in the past five years if there were no injuries.

just a wild guess...but I know the above teams have had some injury plagued seasons at one time or another over the past years.

The Pens would have been 70-10-2 each season and working on cup # 6 this year.

Buffalo would've won...that's my first thought. Pittsburgh last year perhaps? Still would've been more competitive. EDM definitely another candidate there.

I just don't want to go back to '06 'cuz I don't want to hear Montreal fans talk about the Koivu's eye incident, or Buffalo talk about how they played 4 ECHL defensmen.

I'm not sure that I'd pencil in the Penguins in for last year. Thomas did have (to me) the perfect season. It would have been close though.

Edmonton a few years back is interesting now that I think about it.

Another question mark for me is the Detroit vs. Pittsburgh II series. I still believe that the Penguins were the better team, but it could be my homer bias.

We had Hasek in '07, and if it weren't for Schneider and Kronwall going down before the WCFs the Sens might have been facing a pretty mean Wings team that year.
