Wow, holy s***. Got mixed emotions about doing during the season like this. But we've been terrible the last 2 years.

This team has been top 25 in recruiting since he got here, and not one of the top 75 teams in the country. He underperformed.

This is going to cost an ass of $ for the buyout.
I think his buy out package is just under $15.4 million.
.... The Gamecocks Revenue stream has drop $58 million or around a 45% drop.

I'm not sure paying big bucks for a new coach is in the future for South Carolina ... Just looking at the Finances .. perhaps they should have kept him a few more years ... I am not certain of any increase in the sec Bowl Revenue Sharing Program -which would help S. Car. ...

It's too bad SCar doesn't have tejas money to buy those elite corches like the donghorns get, right?

Well I would like college football not to be about the money ... ... but it is about the money.
Muschamp was fired because of a 45% drop in Revenue by a AD (Ray Tanner) whose job may also be in trouble if he can't turned things around.

Yes Muschamp was the head of the Football Program & deserves part of the blame... A 45% drop in Revenue is very large hit AND it indicates there are other problems at S. Car. It means someone is not taking care of their supporters and fan base. I have noticed that when you start to treat your target market like customers instead of fans... the customers will spend their recreational $$$ some where else...

There is a lot of fun things to do in S. Car. and with avoidance of large crowds being a thing for a while ... it may be tough to quickly recover. A guy in S. Car can buy some real nice fly fishing gear for the price of a season ticket .. and have some fun...

When ever they tell you is is not about the money ... then you know ... it is about the money ...

What about an experienced SEC winner like Hugh Freeze?

Dude has beating 2 decent ACC teams with Liberty talent.
That's what I was thinking, too.

Just working from memory --- Nebraska's Conference record for the last 4 years has been the same 3-6. I think Nebraska last played in a bowl game back in 2016 ... they lost to Tenn. I do not remember if you fired your coach that year ... Nebraska is one team that underachieves more than The Longhorns. lol

Do not mistake my staying on topic as support for your really bad attempts at witticism. lol

Went right over your empty head, didn't it.

Nebraska (nor anyone else for that matter) has the recruiting grounds or economic resources that tejas has. Just ask bloviating tools like yourself and they'd be happy to tell us all the advantages tejas has over everybody else.

When Nebraska was in the Big12 around 50% of your players were from Texas. Nebraska played a lot of Texas teams, showcased their program and recruited well in Texas.

Today with Nebraska in the B1G, Neb. almost never comes to the State of Texas, & can not recruit Texas. Currently, Neb may have 7 kids from Texas on their team. Also, Neb. is not currently recruiting well inside other B1G States.
So ... Neb. lost Texas as a recruiting source, and is now competing with everyone else for kids in Florida and California...

The move to the B1G was a mistake. If a High School Football player wanted to watch a Nebraska Football game ... he would have to do a little research to find the game on TV ... The Nebraska game doesn't get a lot of play in Texas. ... No 14 year old Texas kid is coming thru the Texas High School Football Program wanting to go up North and play for Nebraska

... Neb. burned a lot of bridges when they left the Big12 ... and there are lot of Big12 schools do not want them back

.... Talk about underachieving ...

Nah. Not even 12.5% of our players came from Texas, and rarely did the supposed 'gems' we got ever turn out.

1999: Carl Crawford: Chose baseball, All-World Baseball player

2000: Nick Pevendo, Lannie Hopkins, Willie Amos, TJ Hollowell (starter, never All-Conf HM)

2001: Zero recruits from Texas

2002: DeMorrio Williams (JUCO). Likely the best we ever got out of TX in the B12 years

2003: TItus Brothers, David Dykes, Steve Cramer, JB Phillips, Adrain Turner, Greg Austin (Austion OK, rest forgettable)

2004: Terrance Nunn. Solid kid, loved to work and play hard. No complaints.

2005: Brodrick Hunter, Cody Glenn, Wallace Franklin (solid run of dudes that never ended their careers at NE).

2006: Will Henry

2007: Curenski Gilleylan, Quentin Castille, Marcus Mendoza, Patrick Witt, Shawn Sullivan, Andrew Blue, Adi Kudalik (Only Curenski ended his career at NE)

2008: Josh Williams, David Whitmore, David Grant, Koday Spano, Brandon Thompson, Steve Osbourne, Alonzo Whaley, Lester Ward, Courntey Osbourne. (Osbourne's were OK, in-state walk-ons were much better an lower cost).

2009: Cody Green, Chris Williams, Rex Burkhead, Aaron Green, Thaddeus Randle, Nick Ash, Jesse Coffey, Seth Jameson (best TX we ever had in the B12, supposedly. Rex Burkhead is and always will be a stud. Only Thad was the other that even played meaningful downs.).

2010: Donovan Vestal, Harvey Jackson, Ciante Evans, Jay Guy, Jason Dann (Likely our most productive TX class in the B12. Nary an NFL player).

2011: Aaron Green, Jamal Turner, Charles Jackson, David Santos, Chase Harper, Givens-Price. (So much promise, so much heartbreak).

So yeah, you nailed it, if not for Texas, Nebraska was shit in the Big 12. Talk about underachieving worthless TX recruits we landed as 5th choice and highly rated softies that we seemed to land way too often.

Since Bama, UF, and TAMU are doing well, now you have to resort to flaming Nebraska?

Beamer was recruiting coordinator when he was here, did a good job.

This is a risky hire. USC is hoping to get a Dabo-type (DS was a WR coach when he replaced Bowden). Not a play-caller. Good recruiter, organization builder. Obviously, his coordinator hires will be of supreme importance. He should clear house, except for Connor Shaw.
