49ers placed WR Kendrick Bourne on the reserve/COVID-19 list.​

Bourne tested positive a day before the 49ers are scheduled to play the Packers. The game remains on for now, but there's still a chance it gets moved. Bourne is out at least this week and could remain sidelined through the 49ers' bye. It's another blow to an offense that will be missing multiple starters in Week 9.

If he is the best they have he will draw Jaire and have Mullens throwing to him. I would say play ate your own risk. Packers defense is leaky but is not through the air.

Deebo Samuel and LT Trent Williams join Aiyuk on the COVID-19 list as close contacts to Kendrick Bourne, who was previously ruled out. Samuel was already set to miss the game, but the 49ers now will be without their top two wide receivers and best left tackle. It is fair to question how this game is moving forward as planned on Thursday night and, if it is indeed played, who will catch passes from Nick Mullens. The 49ers are down to Trent Taylor and Richie James at the position on the active roster, but three names on the practice squad

Allen Lazard posted on social media that he is on the team's flight to Thursday's Week 9 game against the 49ers.​

Lazard is still in his window to be activated off injured reserve, so no practice status has been announced. We do know he participated last Thursday but have not seen updates since, so do not take this report as fact. There is a chance he is activated prior to kickoff on Thursday and could immediately be considered a FLEX option, as the Packers are heavy favorites facing off against an injury-riddled 49ers team.

The Texans will close its facilities Thursday due to a positive COVID-19 test.​

As always with positive tests, the Texans will shut down its facilities and force the player who tested positive (to be revealed on tomorrow's transactions wire) to keep at home. Any players who were deemed in close contact will also quarantine and be ruled out for Sunday due to the league's five-day window. As it stands, Sunday's contest between the Texans and Jaguars is still scheduled to occur.

Michael Thomas (hamstring, ankle) is practicing Wednesday.​

Thomas practiced last week before ultimately missing Week 8 against the Bears, but being out there on a Wednesday would suggest his chances of suiting up against the Bucs this Sunday are much higher. Emmanuel Sanders and Marquez Callaway also practiced Wednesday.
