Careful with stats, you know who has a 7-9 record in their last 16 games as a starter with over 5,000 yards passing and 34 passing and rushing TDs in that span? They don’t start anymore because they turned the ball over. In all fairness to our situation, it is not as drastic but our QB has been most successful in getting wins when the turnovers have been limited. That rookie year was awesome and only 4INTs for the whole year. We have a -7 turnover differential and our QB has 6 turnovers through 4 games. You know which game our defense played the best? The game we had zero turnovers and most of our players healthy. By no means is this all on Dak. Zeke, Cooper and the defense have not made plays but to say that Dak’s turnovers are not part of what needs fixin is being a Dak homer.

I thought the defense would be better than this. I certainly would have thought average defense. Not the trash that we are witnessing. You dont make the playoffs with this bad of a defense.

I do agree that it not all Dak. The turnovers by the offense are getting the team in a hole. Part of the problem is the OL is no longer elite. Zeke has no holes and is getting hit more in the backfield. The RT is not getting it done consistently and Dak is getting hit. Really a strategic mistake to not have Martin at RT.

Things that I saw were failure to carry out assignments. Way to many missed/poor tackles that could have been made with some effort. Pass rush should have been much better. DLaw was not at all living up to his pay. Corners and safety play was awful and could have been better with a little more effort. Part of the lapse came after they fell behind so quickly.
On the other side of the coin was the excellent play and effort of Schultz and CeeDee. They were outstanding. Two examples of play that was lacking overall that could have made some difference.

Just my opinion.

Why did they draft Lamb?

Well for me anyway they drafted Lamb simply because he was too talented to pass up at that point in the draft . And by the way Cooper was giving effort last year and the end of the game BS yesterday I would venture he will be gone after next year.
As some have pointed out here Nolan’s defense has been middle of the road at best. This defense is more talented than they are showing. I would bet my house that Parcells could come in and in 2 weeks we would think they had different players but that’s not going to happen.
Like we said with Garrett in charge it starts with the coaching and then the players have to execute. This is a historically bad defense in Cowboys history.

He was the best player available. I was iffy on the pick , where most were ecstatic. I was worried what would happen with Gallup. Gallup is averaging 3 catches a game / 6 targets. That’s pretty good, but then you have to add that Dak is throwing 50 times per game.

100% correct. Out Dtackles were being blown off the ball all day. Poe may be the worst free agent signing in many years. He seldom get off on the snap. Play the Oklahoma rookie, he can't be any worse. Jaylon Smith actually makes Bradie James look like a good LB. If Smith isn't rushing the QB, he's a liability. Joe Thomas was the best player on the field yesterday and should play ahead of Smith when and if Vander & Lee get back.
After watching these safeties play I wonder just how bad Clinton Dix was. Player evaluations seem poor. Poe, Smith and the current safety play say as much.

Coaching sets off serious alarms on the defensive side. The Browns have shown on film they want to run the ball, play 2 and 3 TE sets and this team comes out in nickel ??? The worst may be the selected onside kick with 3 plus minutes to play. I know the DC & Special Teams coach are McCarthy home boys buy, but these two thus far have been as bad as bad can be

I thought Lamb was a top 10 or even top 5 talent. .

If the defense continues to be this bad then a high draft pick and New DC will be in town next season. Teams are scoring on this defense way to easy .

This is why drafting Lamb was a mistake.

No that’s wrong thinking IMHO. Garrett thought like that. Unless you have a hall of fame player on the roster At a position with lots of time left in his career you pick the superior player on the board. The only exception might be QB. But if Trevor Lawrence is on the board and you have Dak signed long term you still pick him and work out the details later. Now if they are equal that’s a different conversation.
Lamb was the pick over who ever was left on the board especially with doubts about Cooper.

My opinion is as good as anyone else's Dumbo.
Yes it is. If I do not agree, calling you or anyone else names is childish and degrades the integrity of the board.

You know... I spent the good part of this afternoon thinking how to respond and finally came to the conclusion that further dialog with you is pointless. Continuing to make Dak’s turnovers a primary point of contention while soft shoeing the other deficiencies on this team tells me all I need to know about your position and I’m not interested in continuing to beat my head against a closed door.

Moving on...

you're a better man than I.
I prefer childish name calling when I can't punch um in the nose.

No tolerance for so-called Dallas fans trolling Cowboy fans with clueless football statements
