I love how the Heat play, but yeah, I'd like to see that old rivalry renewed.

Plus, if the Lakers really are going to win #17 and tie the Celtics for all time titles, it should be against them.

By the same token, if they aren't going to catch them, it should be the Celtics that stop them.

I think both teams pose a similar threat level to the Lakers.

But I agree. The Celtics make a more compelling story because of the history.

Yep. Plus the Lakers still owe them for about 5 or 6 finals losses from the 60's. lol

Boston adjusted in game 3 and got the needed win.

Now let’s see how Miami responds in game 4.

All those days off favor the team who just lost, IMO. More time to change things up.

The Celtics have crushed the Heat in the first half of every game and allowed them back in the third quarter. They just have gone flat with the extended TV halftime break. Last night Stevens must have reminded them while they were on the court because they they started to do the same thing and then Hayward started picking up the defense and the C's fell in line and the lead didn't fall below 9.

If the C's continue to pick up the defense in third period from here on, this will be over in 6. The C's cracked the zone early and the Heat couldn't make the adjustment. The C's perimeter defense wasn't giving up easy 3's like first two games and it showed late in the game.

If the Celtics do get to the Finals against the lakers, I guarantee that Lebron won't even be able to play 32 minutes if the Celtics keep up the pace. He can't run the court for 38-40 minutes anymore and one or two days between games isn't enough time for him to recharge. Celtics are a very young, highly energetic team when they start scoring and run like hell. The Lakers will have to slow the game down.

You clearly have not been following LeBron.

Yes, he can play 40 minutes at that pace. He has been doing it all playoffs.

lol

The Lakers have the 2nd highest fast break points in the league and Lebron has led that. He also was more rested going into these playoffs than he ever has been in his career.

32 minutes? You’re joking. He will be playing 40 minutes unless the C’s are getting hammered which is very possible. Lebron is still the best player in the league on the fastbreak. Lebron is getting more rest than ever in the playoffs....guess what that means? He will be well rested for the Finals.

Not necessarily

But either way Lebron will be getting closer to passing Jordan with a ring this year and there is nothing you can do about it lol
Lebron could win the next 4 in a row and still never pass Jordan. He lost that the moment he lost a finals series.

Nope. Carrying his team to the Finals in some of those seasons isn’t a blemish. MJ is just lucky he couldn’t do that in some seasons. If Lebron gets a ring with his 3rd team you better believe he will be in that conversation for most

Yeah, definitely valid to keep MJ ahead of LeBron no matter what LBJ does rest of career because MJ was that good.

But 6-0 Finals record is a laughable reason.

It is similar logic to me saying LeBron is better because he has a better record before the Finals. I don’t believe that, but the logic is the same.

You have to look at the strength of competition faced and strength of surrounding team.

I actually think Miami present something the Lakers haven't seen all playoffs (Boston as well) A group that doesn't need their best players to score a lot to win games. Miami can win games where their best 2 players score 15 points each. Lakers in the playoffs played teams that depend heavily on the top 2 to carry the offense. In the finals it will be different. Lock in on Boston best 2 players then Gordon, Smart, and Brown can lead them to wins. Lock in on Bam and Jimmy then Tyler, Dragic, Duncan, and Crowder can help you win games
This is certainly true, but thinking Lakers rely on their best 2 players because those 2 happen to be Lebron and AD. agree, though Cs and Miami have more depth than the other teams and they are more topheavy.....will say often teams with 2 best players will win the game.

Yep...with all the TV timeouts fairly certain he could go 45-48 if he needed to. Not ideal, of course.

You wanna hear something funny? That BigKen fella that said LeBron wouldn't be able to play 32 minutes a game is the same person that said last year the Browns should have been fined for the Pats illegally videotaping the Bungels when they played in Cleveland. Now what kinda overly homeristic BS is that?

What's funny is the LeBron haters out there have no clue how rested he is for this playoff run or the insane stuff he does to stay in shape for the season.
