I have a new favorite Jeff Mathis stat.

Mathis has one less hit then chirinos, despite having less than 1/3 at bats as chirinos has received.

oh yeah..... and they also have the same total bases.

I think this was a comfort signing. Both to make it look like the front office is actually doing something to help the team ( it wasn’t) and to placate some of their favorites Odor / Andrus.

I love the rangers team, but I really hate how they’re being run right now.

I hate seeing Tejeda go. He needs playing time but Odor /Solak makes things a little cramped. (Odor and Choo have blocked many moves)

I am no fan of Chirino but of the two, Mathis is worse. This offense needs more than expelling Frazier and Chirino. Odor as you know and currently Elvis and Choo look terrible. One problem is nothing can be done about Odor and Choo would be a hard trade. It's a mess.

We don’t have to trade Choo he is a FA after this season. We just have to not re-sign him. We can move Calhoun to DH, sign a quality LF’er like Ozuna which provides a RH thumper to support Gallo.

I believe they are waiting to see how Santana performs when he returns. If he does well Solak will go to LF and Danny in CF. The IF is the major concern as I see it. You are right about protection for Gallo.

i love watching Solak but he isn't the power plant we need protecting Gallo. maybe if he replaced Odor but we need power bats and if we keep Frazier and Chirinos then our offense will be weak, weak, weak

I think, like you have been saying for two years, that they wanted to make a big splash for the new ballpark. I think they would have spent the money, but JD, based on his own reaction, was fooled by how quickly Rendom signed.

Yeah, I know what you mean. As much as I have wanted him replaced, I have never had a dislike for him personally. I just don't want him to be on our roster unless he learns how to play a couple other positions so he can be a bench player.

I did feel bad for him for a while. But he has had more chances than anyone player deserves. In addition, he has and is blocking players from getting the chance to develop into a good player. Do not dislike him because he didn't work out.

The biggest issue in replacing Odor is having a 2b to replace him with. I rooted for Odor to get it going like he did the 1st 3 years in the bigs because of that. It wasn't until we traded for Solak that I felt we had someone who could possibly replace him even though his defense could be an issue and I am not a person who believes trashing your defense. Which is why I say no to Santana playing 2b or any other IF position. So our options were limited. But I would like to see Solak have that opportunity.
