I was listening to full ride earlier this afternoon on SiriusXM.. Chris Childers was saying towards the end of the show that some shocking news was about to be announced Saturday. A school from a P5 conference will shut down sports this fall altogether and it may or may not be followed by the conference. He was telling the audience not to panic, it's not the end all be all yet.

Not sure why he just didn't say the school's name. Anyone hear anything? Seeing the way how the PAC conference will start fall camps, makes me think it's one of it's schools.

How good is Tracy Pierson a $9.95er that covers UCLA? He said this:

There are rumors circulating that the Pac-12 could decide soon to shut down football for the fall season. We have yet to confirm it from reliable sources, but we are aware that the conference's presidents and chancellors are increasingly wary of the potential risks of liability.

First I've heard of it. Usually Jon Wilner (San Jose Mercury News) is the first one to get this kind of info.

I'd obviously prefer football, but gun to my head and I had to bet on whether the PAC plays fall ball or not, I'm guessing it's not. There's still too much unknown about COVID. The reports about persistent lung damage even in young people is scary.

So is the Coliseum on the watch list to lose power and water?

4.0 GPA and 4 star is a Bear...

The Bears beat out Stanford, UCLA, USC, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Nebraska and more for Wilkins’ commitment. The commitment over Stanford, who Wilkins had already been admitted to, was the Bears second big head to head victory over the Cardinal after securing 4 star WR J Michael Sturdivant‍ earlier this summer.

This class is shaping up well. Its been along time since the Bears could say that.

Well lucky for us it is a 5th strong receiver and lineman who doesn’t fit into the defense that are apart of the idiot united movement. So we will field a team and be the number 2 team in the North.

Been hearing rumblings about the California schools are the ones pushing to cancel fall football, especially after the PAC announced they would provide a massive bridge loan to all the schools if football and basketball can't happen till spring, etc...
We live in a litigious society, and word is they're very fearful of potential lawsuits from any players that end with Covid this fall and get seriously ill. Covid could cause permanent reduced lung function for those that have to be put on ventilators and damage to other body organs. It would be extremely tough to determine if a player or players got it while playing games or practicing, but say some of them end up with physical issues that compromise their ability to play in the NFL. The lawsuits could be for 100's of millions of dollars.
I get this and it's why I'm already preparing for for the fall schedule to be cancelled by Sept and probably rescheduled for spring next year.

Doesn't say anything about how they're handling the virus. They're still scheduled to begin training camp on August 17th.

Bohn appears to be anticipating having to move it back, but that was because they don't have state, county or university clearance to start traditional practices. He also talked about the bye dates that the PAC built into the schedule as well.

USC has tested nearly 400 athletes and 9 came back positive. If memory serves, only 2 of them were football players.

That's odd. I posted this on the thread a few posts up.

I just figured since San Francisco only has 67 deaths and la is one of the largest hot spots in the world for the virus right now... it might have had something to do with it. You would know more than me if you're down there now. I

Yeah, per capita, the deaths in California have actually been really low.

I can't speak to much on UCLA. But I know USC has a plan in place.

This whole thing is weird. State of California just released their guidelines for fall sports to hopefully continue...on the same day that it's said that the B1G is likely to cancel their season.
