Wow. Haven't been paying much attention to other teams and their respective productions, but I had no idea the Brewers bats have so anemic to date, currently hitting a collective .198, altho they've managed to scrape together an average of 4 runs per game, which is really not all that bad. Yelich is 1 for freaking 27? Shit, that man is due to bust out and bust out big time at that. He's way, way too talented to post those Nicky Delmonicoesque numbers. Let's hope he doesn't choose to do so during our 4 game series with them.

That's an interesting rule you're presenting. I would argue that only applies to franchise that are...shall we say...budgeted.

I dunno, just observing what has worked. It's not scientific or anything, but watching many teams go through the process of trading vets for prospects, waiting for them to be ready, and then adding a key FA or two seems to take around 3 years (at least) to work: Astros, Tigers a while back, Cubs, Red Sox, etc....

Of course sometimes teams suck at it and it never works (Tigers now), but I think the Sox did it right.

Maybe so. I just had a hunch

The way I'm right about the White Sox - is I guess they will be in the World Series every year - and every 40 years or so - I'm right.

I have to confess, back around 2017 or so, pretty much after the Sox completed the major trades, I initially had our boys targeted for 2019 to at least compete for the playoffs, if not outright making them. But they laid such a huge egg in '18 that I felt it set us back anywhere from 1-2 years. Man that '18 season was gawd awful.

Interesting. I think Hahn even pointed towards 2020. I never thought we would contend with most of our prospects still being rookies or in the minors.

Yeah, 18 sucked for the Sox. But then the Bears went 12-4 so I got over it. lol

Since going to Milwaukee. Yelich's home/road splits are freakish. He's a monster at home and not the same guy elsewhere.

Isn't Zach Collins one of Yelich's buddies? They train together - I think.

The four game Cardinals-Tigers series has been canceled. I’m not having a good feeling about the viability of this season continuing much longer.

I know Collins and Grandal are buddies and train together due to their Miami roots. Don’t know about Yelich.

Have they tried throwing some 'tussin on it?

I'm becoming more convinced by the day that this season will come to an end with no ending. Manfred has already conceded that even if the season is to play out, the chances of teams who have had to cancel whole series of getting to make up those games are all but shot. So at best we're talking about uneven number of games played, which will obviously have a detrimental effect on certain teams when it comes to qualifying for the playoffs.

I've said all along that I was kinda looking at this patchwork of a season as a glorified Spring training, with the only difference being the stats count. In the meantime I'll continue to follow the Good Guys and root for them as long as there are games being played. I'll tell you this much, my guess is the only folks who are more concerned about whether MLB can get thru this season is the NFL. Because something tells me that as goes baseball, so goes football.

which is why i don't think this season should have been anything more than exhibtion. the playing field isn't level and stats etc. shouldn't count for this reason.

Eh. They seem pretty determined to finish. Manfred said not all teams will play all 60 now. For teams like STL and MIA it could come down to winning percentage.

I think you use it as a learning experience and move forward. This is why teams have taxi squads.
