Don’t know where he grew up? But it wasn’t Dallas.
Maybe it’s just a personality thing. I only root for teams that represent MY CITY. It’s a city pride thing and I just don’t give a crap about Pittsburgh, Seattle or Baltimore because I have no ties to the city.

That's retarded. What if you grew up in upstate NY or bum fuck Northeastern town?

Do you have to root for the closest team because they are the closest? Explain to me your fascinating logic.

You’re the moron for thinking the Cowboys were on TV more than your home team.

Again moron, I thought my old man was a fan of the Cowboys, I was to young to know who the home team was.

Do us all a favor and shut your pie hole.

Of course you know, because I gave the whole history more than once, because as you do now you did then cried about who we root for.

Marketing? I think you mean “winning”
As many of Eagle fans point out. The Cowboys havent done shit for a quarter century. Yet all of us real fans are still around. As far as new fans. Cowboys are still marketed as much as most teams even without winning. So please. Continue bashing young Cowboy fans that have never seen the Cowboys win a superbowl. (your fellow eagle fans will fact check this for you)

Has nothing to do with that and has everything to do with winning. You trying to tell us the Giants weren’t on TV enough for you while living in NY so marketing made you a Cowboy fan? You became a Cowboy fan for one reason and one reason only... because they won.

Or you could use the excuse the other 95% of Cowboy fans outside of Texas use... “My Dads manure spreader jack knifed on the highway and he was catapulted 300 feet into a creek and Rodger Stauback happened to be driving the other way and saved his life. Ever since that day we were Cowboy fans”
So for those of us that have been long time fans.(not from the state of Texas) Please explain if it is all about winning why we are still Cowboy fans? if we are all about winning (bandwagon fans) why are we still Cowboy fans. Your ignorance knows no bounds.
If you are are talking of young fans rooting for the Cowboys. How is winning even in the equation? As many have pointed they arent old enough to know of their successes. So WTF are you talking about. Easy Answer is Marketing which has been pointed out to you. especially for youngins'
None of which could be classified as bandwagon fans.
Now before you jump from one side of the fence to the other.
There a shit ton of true fans of any team not living in that teams state. That doesnt mean there isnt bandwagon fans. There is no Cowboy fan that thinks there is no bandwagon fans for their team, just like there is no true Patriot fan that doesnt understand there is pats bandwagon fan (or the list of many teams with bandwagon fans) Which is where you want to try & make your assine points. Doesnt change the fact that you can be a true fan of a team without living in that vicinity.
I have a friend that lives in the Bay area. He is a Detroit Lions fan. Under your reason of thought. he is not a true fan because of all the winning they do!!!!
As a Cowboy fan, living in the Bay area. I had to deal with all the niner fans when my team went 1-15. Now if I werent a true fan. Why wouldnt I just go be a Niner fan? It would have been so easy to do because they were in their dynasty, & according to you. That would make me a true fan.

BTW I would appreciate it when you talk of one of my favorite players.
You spell Roger correctly.
Also if it isnt too much trouble. I would request you spell Staubach correctly as well.

I know this is weird to you. Since you told me in the past
A. Your parents told you who you were gonna root for. (somethings are out of your control)
B. I absolutely believe you are an eagles fan, because who has ever heard of a bandwagon Eagles fan!

Jerry did hire a good coach. McCarthy has been a very successful head coach.

Was Barry Switzer a good head coach or did he have great players? Any success McCarthy's has had can be summed up in 2 words: Aaron Rodgers. Now this team is loaded and I can certainly see them in the Super Bowl but it won't be because of Mike McCarthy.

My profiles are spot on. You always ignore the FACT I was born and raised in Philly and lived their for 30 years. I moved to AZ and kept the allegiance. That’s a million miles different then living in NY, never once living in Texas, being a fan of the mighty NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. You are a good, smart person. We ALL have our foibles. It was just a rough stretch for you for whatever reason and you wanted to feel good about yourself so you bonded with a city you know absolutely nothing about, no family or friends there and adopted their team because the WON.
I guarantee the vast majority of your friends give you complete shit for turning your back on your HOME TOWN and rooting for a team thousands of miles away. It’s a personality flaw but we all have them. I root for the representation of MY city. Not some other city I have no ties to.
I can only assume you are trolling or trying to get a rise out of people with this bizarre theory because I honestly question your intelligence level when you say things like that.

No, they’ve known me for over a decade from a previous board. Shit I posted on the Hoop as a die hard Eagle fan before the SB win. Try again cause you swung and missed on that one.
Yeah, but you were always on the Cowboy board and ONLY the Cowboy board. So what does that say about you? Not accepted by fans of your own team. Were you going through a tough stretch in your life and wanted to feel like a winner so you came over to the more popular board? :noidea:

So you were a kid in the 90’s? This is exactly 100% what I’m talking about. I really could care less for anyone you root for. It’s just that you can never admit the ONLY reason you became a Cowboy fan is because they won. No way were the Cowboys on TV more then your local team. Just be honest and I’ll drop it.
And it’s absolutely an amazing and incredible coincidence every team you root for are all the great teams of their respective sport.
1. Cowboys 2nd most titles ever
2. Celtics Most titles ever
3. USC long and storied history

But it had absolutely nothing to do with them winning, right?
I guess It was all of those Red Sox World Series wins in the 70's and 80's that wooed him

Jerry's ego is why. With a worthy HC the media is talking to the coach. Not the Owner/GM. In Jerry's brain I believe he thinks "I am the real HC of this team"
& with that. Your question is answered.

He isn't worse than Daniel Snyder, nobody is. Yet Snyder is still able to land top coaches, but of course like everyone else once they arrive at Redskins Park they become stupid. But it shows even bad owners can get good accomplished coaches. Not sure why JJ can't.

Hey hey hey don't go there, that still leaves a mark. The other night I had the Bill Buckner game on DVR so I watch. Well until the Sox took a 2 run lead, I just couldn't watch the collapse so I went to the 2018 World Series instead. :)

The head coach deserves most of the credit.

No. My position on the topic is nothing other than that the idea that the Cowboys can't get good coaches because good coaches won't want to go there is absolutely moronic.

Add me to the list of "morons"

i'm remembering a qoute by a very good trainer when asked why his horse had such unparrelled success.....

the horse had a "very good owner"

The implication that could not directly be stated on TV -

The owner footed the bills and stayed out of the way and let the trainer make decisions.....

after watching Garrett teams with talent be totally mismanaged on game days, I'll say if this team somehow makes it to the Super Bowl, it was unquestionably because of McCarthy.

It's beyond stupid to say a coach was only his QB play. If this were true, then Landry was always next year's champions without Staubach.

Why should I use the Yankees as they are in the Largest market, the Bengals are not. I picked the Braves because they were on everyones TV throughout the country, thats why they haveso many fans. The Yankees and Cowboys are on National TV more than any team in their sport. Marketing drives alot of those fans latching onto teams outside of where they live.

Ted Turner put the Braves on unsuspecting families TV's.....

So let's see................
@Rams-L
Atl-W
@Sea-L (does this have a 2014 upset feel?)
Cle-W (not convinced though)
NYG-W
Ari-? (Possible letdown)
@Was-W
@Phi-L (terrible arrangement here)

Pit-W (they're at home and Dak and Zeke won in 2016)
@Min-? (Vikings could be a .500 team at this point which may lead to a home slipup)
Was-W

@Bal-?
@Cin-W.......putting those games back to back screwed things up.

SF-? (the fact that this game is so late in the season makes this a toss-up)
Phi-W
@NYG-W

They have Ravens and Bengals back to back, but one is a terrible team it almost doesn't matter.

Patterns
vs. NFC
4-0, 2-2, 3-1, 1-3......not likely to stay 1-3 or go 3-1. They will be hard-pressed to sweep the NFC West. It's 2-2 or 0-4. If 2-2, it could be beating Arizona and SF at home.

vs. AFC
4-0, 2-2, 1-3, 1-3.....they have advantages against three of them. To me, I feel that if they beat the Bengals, Browns, and Steelers, they are beating the Ravens. This just has more of a 4-0 than 3-1 feel to me. If they lose to the Ravens, they lose to the Browns or Steelers. The Browns and Steelers have a losing road record (actually 1-3 since 2014) against the NFC themselves. Giants pull off an upset week 1? I already think they can beat the Browns.

5-1 last two years in division, could see that again.

Before the schedule came out I had the Cowboys at 10-6, but if they beat the 49ers, Cardinals, and Vikings that can quickly be 13-3.

Too bad conference record will screw them from HFA.

Could you repeat that?

Nobody would question me being a Patriots fan. I was born in South Boston and carried my teams all over the world.

Besides a Patriots fan, I am a Carolina fan, I respect the Steelers and Seahawks organizations. I like the Dallas fans because the are good fans and good people that I could hang out with and watch a game with.

I dislike Eagles fans because you are insipid little shits that found an acorn and proclaimed yourselves worthy.....
