Mmm 1 year $4M. Seems like a slight overpay (think an A+ would be 2-3M) but he's coming off his best season where he ran behind a bottom 10 OL in the league (not that there's any improvement with Seattle, although maybe for once an OL draft pick in Lewis will pan out... he was one of the best run blocks in College).

He'll be 30... but he doesn't have a lot of carries to his name... but a # of injuries in his career. Still... it's a back with experience who rushed for 1,000 last year... Hopefully covers us until Penny gets back.

Edit: Obvious to me Freeman wants more money... probably in the 3 year range at $6-7M per. We just don't need to spend the money there.

I read (just Googling, random article... nothing OFFICIAL on Spotrac, etc.) that's it's UP to $4M this year which means incentives. I think Freeman wants like $6-7M per (which makes sense since there's a 1.5 year age gap there) on a 3 year deal...

Either way if it's UP to $4M I think we got a decent deal. Gives us pretty good depth with Carson, Penny (once he returns), Hyde, Dallas.

Hyde is a good sign for depth. Not sure when Penny will be ready and can't afford what happened at the end of last season. I just hope the Oline gets well coached up and gels quickly. Thank god Cable is gone.

Yah he was down last year..... but he still had a lot of receptions. The Falcons also did suck... so...

Frankly I would've been fine with either, but if Freeman wanted a multi year deal, then give me the 1 year option any day.

Yup. I don't need Freeman injury and all clogging up future cap space. Now back in the holding pattern on what the FO will do with the D-line.

Yes he did. I think the injuries have caught up to Freeman and asking 6-7mil per year is laughable.
