Big loss for UW and he did more for the program than he gets credit for. I met a girl a while back who claimed to be a close relative of his told me that Barbara Hedges didn't even call to tell him he was fired. He found out from the Seattle Times. Everything I've heard about Hedges is awful. Although I'm biased because I grew up hearing from my dad that Barbara Hedges destroyed UW athletics.

It takes a real asshole to destroy a program just once and she managed to do it twice. Hope she burns in hell.

Really interesting article on Gil Dobie from the Athletic for those who have subscriptions. I know that @mcnabb7542 was the only one alive when he was coaching, but I highly recommend giving it a read. I promise that they're not paying me to advertise for them, but their content is really good. Only "news" website I pay for a subscription to.

The curious case of Gil Dobie: Why Washington got rid of a...

Man. Really great call for Eason and Bryant to declare early for the draft. Yahh, we could call it monday morning QB'ing, but still, I remember when both declared for the draft and I looked at their body of work, especially in 2019. It was screaming that both could really use another year of playing in the NCAA before truly ready for the NFL, and to be legit round 1-2 talent.
Ahmed as well. All three might have the talent and size at their positions to get to the NFL and succeed, but all them really should of stuck around for their senior years if they wanted to be serious 1-3 round picks.

Maybe they'll still get there, if the right teams take them tomorrow, but still, all of them could of used another year of development.

It would be nice to have Ahmed and Bryant back but tbh I won't miss Eason.

He signed with the Bills.

I'm not all that surprised he went undrafted tbh. Given his injury history, overall drop in performance on the field and the fact that he had an awful combine meant a lot of teams probably completely removed him from their boards.

Hunter Bryant was much more surprising to me. I have to assume that people were concerned about his injury history and weren't able to get him in for a private physical with team doctors which apparently teams value much more than the combine doctors.

Nick Harris falling surprised me as well. I personally thought of him as a good value in the third and he fell to the fifth. Teams must've had a lower grade on him due to his size. He checks every single box aside from size and length. I wouldn't be surprised if he emerges as a starter sooner rather than later.

I’m not surprised either. 5.6 40 is ridiculously bad. Just a bummer for him, went from a top round prospect to undrafted and barely signed.

Hello Boys!

Just a couple of my observations from the draft weekend :

Eason: If you didn't hear Mort's report about how teams had flags on him for "attitude" " taken ownership of mistakes on the field" and his over all lead skills that pretty much summed up my thoughts on a wasted talent!

Harris: Real close to being an Eagle but the Browns snagged him. Great pick and he will have a good career in Cleveland

Adams: No individual workouts and the chance for teams to have this guy in to clear medical checks hurt, but the Bills will take care of this good player and he will be a starter down the round.

Bryant: Prime example of listening to family instead of the experts

Ahmend: I can understand why

A beat writer tweeted this weekend that this UW draft looks bad for the program. I told him he was nuts cause three of the kids didn't listen when they should've stayed instead of coming out, its on the kids not the program!

The reason they said that is because telling a recruit that UW will help them achieve their goal of playing at the NFL level is a big selling point.

Lol what? I've got a lot of respect for Justin Wilcox and think he's one of the most underrated coaches in the nation, but 11-1 for Cal is a really, really lofty expectation.

Unfortunately I think 8-4 is a realistic expectation for UW in 2020 given that we'll have an inexperienced QB, the schedule being less than desirable and the losses we suffered due to graduation/the draft.
