Jalen Green, the #1 prospect by ESPN has decided to bypass college and enter the draft. And his choices even if he had decided to go, wouldn't have changed the college landscape. The contribution by Edwards and Wiseman this year was a negligible.

I don't know who implemented one-and-done in 2006, whether it was the NBA or college basketball, or a combination, but in retrospect I think it has hurt college basketball significantly.

In the 10 years from prep-to-pros to one-and-done it was still fairly rare to see guys leave who wouldn't get drafted, especially if they played for good teams, and kids truly wanted to play for the college.

In 2020, I even feel like some of the upper class all-americans are only there because they feel like they have to be.

Assessment of one-and-done in the 14 years since we've had it?

Yeah I think they should just get rid of it.

For really good players theres really no point of 1 year of college if they dont want the experience. They are too good and they are ready to get paid.

And if some dumbass who is clearly not ready wants to think he is, let him make that call and go right away.

The NBA is in control of it. It doesn't help college basketball, so hopefully they get rid of it...I don't think they have any reason to want to, though.

Is it the NBA?

I think it backfired on both the NBA and college basketball.

In retrospect prep-to-pros would have been better for both.

Colleges can't force kids to stay. CBB might have asked the NBA to enact the rule, but the NBA controls that aspect

Oh so MLB forces kids to stay in college, it's not the NCAA?

It definitely has hurt college basketball and they just need to go to the G-League and those that play college can go after their junior year.

I would assume so

I think you are correct.

MLB has strict guidelines in drafting players.

After High School. After Junior College. After they turn 21. After their Junior Year in College. After their
Senior Year in College.

The biggest difference in the baseball draft and College Football/Basketball is you can be drafted multiple
times in Baseball. In football or Basketball you can only enter the draft one time.

So, let's say that a player doesn't get an agent and participates in the draft in football or basketball. (He doesn't get selected) They
are eligible to return and play in college, BUT they are not eligible to ever be drafted again. They would have to be
a free agent. (Good-Bye big bonus bucks)

Agreed. NBA players union is ridiculous. No other union has as much control over the owners and commissioner.

I'm an NBA fan too, and both sports are being hurt, though CBB more so.
