Funny golf quotes.

U.S. Open commentator

"One of the reasons Arnie Palmer is playing so well is that, before each final round, his wife takes his balls and kisses them. Oh my God, what have I just said?"

I wouldn't take my kid.

Parks are full of germs and coronavirus can live on surfaces for 3 days.

People, especially children, are going to start going stir crazy.

But, that's why we have a backyard?

For those in a different situation, tough call.

BUt, if I'm not willing to go home and possibly expose my kid to this, my answer shouldn't really surprise you.
Fair enough. Everyone needs to decide for themselves what's best. But no one should be shamed for carefully going outside.

It's retarded.

Stay at home...unless you want to golf.

Gmafb
"stay at home" not entirely accurate...meaning, even docs will say get outside and exercise while adhering to social distancing guidelines. I don't play much at all (last time a decade ago) but would think that could be done on a golf course.

As mentioned, though..would it? To be safe, off top of my head, that would mean no carts. No "19th hole". Be careful removing ball from cup (touch nothing but your ball). Wash hands or use sanitizer often. No sharing clubs. Maybe limit to twosome and not 4? I'd keep parties minimum 2 holes behind each other.

I do think if done right, golfing could be safe (and I am not a golfer). Will it be done right? I have my doubts.
.....and that's the crux of my argument.

My Husband golfs and likes to fish.

He has never done either solitary.

It's not worth it for us.

He's Mommy and Daddy now.

The Barber Shops and Salons being open is asinine as well.

Agree...another thing "if done right" could be OK. 10 kids playing bball against each other? Bad idea. A couple on same court with seperate balls could be OK (but would not allow my kid to do this at a park...maybe a neighbor).

also agree should not be on any playground equipment.

and walks in park while keeping distance and not touching any surfaces seems safe....well as safe as anything else outside.

It's called a stay at home order.

Clearly that isn't an accurate description if you don't actually have to stay at home....lol

No doubt it's not an actual order.....more like a strong suggestion (hope?).

I just bought my kids Acoustic Guitars,we have a pool and a nearly 1,000 sq foot finished basement.

We're good.

It's a judgement call for each individual.

I would add earlier we have allowed a little leeway to the kiddos. Let my son play bball with one neighbor. Seperate balls. Let our daughter meet ONE friend at an empty school parking lot. Parked 10 feet+ away and just laid in their trunks. Other than to walk from seat to trunk never left area of car or touched anything other than in own car. wont be an every day thing....but would probably let her do it again.

I will say when it first started our daughter was less than thrilled we would not let her "just go hang out at a friends house". Now she gets it and doesn't even ask anymore.

Order.

But, a toothless one..imo

The governor's order cites a law that would seem to make any violation a Class I misdemeanor. However, the order also says "a person shall be notified and given an opportunity to comply" before any enforcement.

The order says "no person shall be required to provide documentation or proof of their activities to justify their activities under this order."

Yeah,my situation is different because of my daughter's respiratory issues.

We can't let one hangout but not the other.

Plus, it's the whole issue of being a carrier with no symptoms if my healthy daughter comes into contact with an infected person and brings it home to the other one.

It's just not worth it.

I'm one of those people who abhors the reliance on technology.

But, it has been a godsend.

They play Xbox with friends, watch movies on facetime and are learning to play the guitar in a online studio with their friends.

For now, it's eased the restlessness.

Seems like it's the same here....called an order, but not really an order.

I get in your situation should stay inside...period. For all but a couple hours each that's pretty much been life here last couple weeks.

Thank God they cannot drop us into the 70s with this virus. 4 TV stations for most of that time (6-7 if lucky). No computers/internet/cell phones. Without help, could the kiddos even work the rotary phones?

Thanks for all you are doing!!

@Mecca

Is it a good idea to wear one of those earloop-style face masks to the grocery store? And don't think I ran out & bought some. I have some extras from last summer. Need them when I mow the lawn.

Dude, my Mother in Law is old school Latina.

She hasn't even graduated to flat screens and still has the big booty TV in her family room.

When my kids went to stay with her last summer, they asked if they could bring the cable box because Abuela's TV doesn't rewind and pause...lol

These kids have no concept of the world pre-Hulu, Netflix and MP3 players.
