No other modern president spouts off at the mouth like Trump.

So none would have done the harm Trump has in that regard. And as others have stated, it isn’t like his other decisions have helped matters overall.
Ignoring problems does harm, but just talking/spouting off?

I doubt anyone would argue the guy is beyond narcissistic.

@Mecca

what you know about the Ibuprofen rumors?

True or not?

They don't know for sure, one way or another.

"At this time, FDA is not aware of scientific evidence connecting the use of NSAIDs, like ibuprofen, with worsening COVID-19 symptoms. The agency is investigating this issue further and will communicate publicly when more information is available,” the statement read.

The announcement followed news reports of a March 11, 2020 letter in The Lancet medical journal that theorized that ibuprofen stimulates the body to produce an enzyme that allows the COVID-19 virus to more easily invade human cells.

Angela Rasmussen, an associate research scientist at Columbia University, disagrees with the theory, saying that “There is no current evidence that ibuprofen specifically impacts COVID-19 disease severity.”

I live about an hours drive south of Seattle.

From what I've seen on the local news it's gotten a LOT quieter.

The kids, husband and I have been "self isolating" for just over a week now. Only time we go out is for groceries once every 5 days or so.
Glad you are okay.

what about the other side of the coin.....Does your hospital believe high doses of Vitamin C will help?

@Gman Celtics/Heat 2012 ECF on NBA tv today.

Think you should find a way to DVR games 6 & 7

Not enough data to be 100% conclusive.

But, It can help with a common cold.

As of now,, not coronavirus.

Plus, taking to much can lead to other issues.

Cramps, Diarrhea...etc.

If you overdue it over an extended period of time, it can mess with your kidneys.

Don't think he'll find it as entertaining as you and I did.
Stopped watching NBA TV and League pass.

I can't stomach another viewing of Horry sinking that jumper over CWebb.

I don't think many, even Trump supporters, would say he didn't downplay it. But, he wasn't the only one who did.

I think we all know that Trump has a tendency to speak....shall we say....bombastically and in best case scenarios.

So, I think that some of his statements were attempts to reassure and provide hope and confidence.

But, because of how he speaks, it comes across as him not taking things seriously.

That's where I think the criticism of him is completely fair. He needed to "tone it down" and say things like "we have the best medical system in the world, we have our best doctors on this and I am confident that we will have things turned around sooner rather than later. In the meantime, please continue to follow the advice of Dr. Fauci and the experts that are working on this".

But, that's not how he talks so...
But we knew this when we elected him. That if a real crisis hit he would be the last person you want to lead the nation and give us confidence. And now here we are.

China knew about the disease first because it originated there. Their “head start” was literally while they were treating it and dealing with it.

Sure, China downplayed it publicly. But we 100% for sure had time to prepare before the disease arrived in the US. China did not have that.

Of course we know more today. But the whole point is that China is the 1 country that had absolutely zero chance to get ahead of this virus before it arrived because it started there.

We should have done more up front. Bottom line, end of story.

And Trump’s biggest mistake is being a pompous idiot who speaks his mind freely without due consideration. There is no logical reason to support his handling of this. He has done a terrible job overall. Pointing to a couple things he did right is crazy in the face of all he has done wrong.

And that doesn’t mean that it is all his fault. Of course it isn’t. I don’t think any 1st term president would be likely to survive this. But Trump could have done a lot to help while instead he has probably done more harm than good.

And he can still do no wrong in the eyes of his supporters.
He is very likely to survive this. His approval ratings have never been better.

Agree. He'd really be better off just letting Dr. Fauci do most of the talking.

I haven't been listening to him or any politician re: how to handle this thing. Pretty much just been doing what doctors have been saying to do.

Which is really weird when you consider how much criticism there has been of him.
Everything about him is weird. He's not a normal president. Since he's been criticized, mostly accurately, non stop from the jump, it's just more noise. Same reason he can do and say hundreds of things that would be the end of a normal politician.

Which gets to why I think he was elected in the first place. People were tired of "normal politicians" and business as usual.
