So........basically turn college football into the NFL without a playoff???
I do not like this. You have to have a playoff if you're going to have a Super Bowl.......which is essentially what they are suggesting here.
You would end up with several 1-loss teams that accomplish basically nothing at all. It takes the luster off of the Rose, Orange, Fiesta, and Sugar bowls in my opinion.
"All conferences would be free to make their own deals with the 34 other existing bowls."
Yea.........I don't like that.
It's a Super Bowl with a bunch of other meaningless bowls
Nor is it known if the BCS would continue using the existing BCS standings as the way to determine the No. 1 vs. No. 2 national title matchup.

The SEC needs an automatic berth in the National Title game
The part that stood out to me was where it said that you could see LSU, Bama, and Arky all in big games. I like that because last season when Bama lost 3 games, 2 of those by very close margins, and we beat Arkansas, Bama was one of the best teams in the country and we ended up in the Capital One bowl, while Arkansas gets beat by Ohio st. in the Sugar Bowl.
I just hate being punished because you division or conference is so good. It's good in a lot of ways, but bad in others. Same thing this season sorta, Oregon loses to LSU just like Bama did, but because Oregon is in the Pac 12 and not the SEC, everyone would rather them rematch LSU if there were to be one because they will win their conference. Bama gets the short end of the stick because LSU happens to be in our division.

If you lose 3 games, you shouldn't be going to a major bowl. Whether or not you or others think your team is better matters not; especially if you don't even play for the conference title. UConn going to the Fiesta last year was a bunch of horseshit too because everyone knew they were over matched plus did not even come close to deserving that game.
at least you still got the best bowl outside of the BCS
Did you see Alabama's bowl game last year? Did you see Arkansas? Bama should have got the Sugar Bowl spot. What you said is an example of what I'm talking about. Your right, a 3 loss team from another conference wouldn't deserve it, but a 3 loss team that lost at LSU by 4 and to the National champs Auburn by 1, deserves it in my opinion.
