Yeah I could see this going well.

It's about time the NHL acknowledges the skills that come up most often in game situations instead of just focusing on the "showy" stuff.

This is really awesome from the standpoint of having two guys in Ovechkin and Backstrom who will have both spent over 15 years with the Caps by the time they retire and/or move on.

What an amazing era to have been a Caps' fan. Bravo, #19!

And just like the Hawks/Penguins currently and the Red Wings prior will kill the next generation of teams due to the cap hell. :suds:

Yeah I could see this going well.

remember how god-awful the all-star passing competition was where you had players standing awkwardly in the neutral zone trying in vain to hit these tiny little nets?
this, but from farther away and with worse sight lines for 95% of the crowd

Saw the Backstrom extension. He's a good player, but 9.2 million? That's a bit much for him IMO.

Before the game started it was implied he was questioning Crosby's availability but after it turns out Bruce did the most Bruce thing.
Maybe Bruce was trying to put Sid on his own lineup sheet at D

The fanbase best known for defending Brad Marchand has been completely reasonable on this, as you can imagine.

Almost as funny as Jackets fans saying that Carlo "pushed him".

Bemstrom meant to make contact. Did not mean to make that heavy contact. "Accidentally on purpose" like Marchand does. Shoulda gotten a penalty.

Hope Tuuk is okay. He's taken some head hits in the past.

Also, the emergency backup at Nationwide is the "goalie coach" that "worked" with the school team that cut my son. The same goalie coach who spent the entire tryout trying to get into the pants of a very homely young woman (I am guessing - it wasn't clear what gender it was).

When they showed him, I booed.

They also gave Vancouver Markstrom for a guy who shit talked his own contract’s epic terribleness.

They’d be an eastern monster right now.

I wasn't hearing a lot of that "Dave Tallon's a genius" talk anymore at the end of things. I thought he was supposed to show those book learnin' nerds how to do it right :noidea:

I mean on pts% they're ahead of the Leafs right now.

Tallon for GM of the Year a lock.
