You missed the second to the last paragraph. He wasn't trying to minimize Bonds' greatness. He was giving him credit for those years in his mid to late 30's where he went above and beyond, like when he put up the 73 spot.

That's a pretty good list. But why is Nelson Cruz still hitting 40 home runs?

Because he really didn't need them. He took them to bulk up from a stomach parasite that he lost 40 pounds from. He didn't appeal, he took his medicine (both figuratively and literally) and he's been clean since, unless he's that far ahead of the testing.

Sorry, no steroid is going to stay in your system 7 years and he's hit more home runs (way more actaully) after the suspension than before it.
