1st let me say. Any game the Cowboys are playing. I am rooting for them to win. If it is possible to get in playoffs. I will root for that. if we get in the playoffs I root for a win then as well.
So I dont want to hear about how you hate when someone roots for their own team to lose.

Now with that said.
We all know we would get our asses handed to us most likely if we made the playoffs.
Not starting with the blame game about Dak, or the WRs or Zeke or even the line.
The major reason is our coaching sucks. Dont even need to go into the Offense side. On the defensive side, our coaches are about as vanilla as it gets. They are basically saying hey this is what we are set up to defend. Do whatever you want our guys will be good enough to stop you anyways. Might as well just whisper in the QBs ear this is what we are doing try & get past us.

so if we were lucky enough to make the playoffs. we would draft in the early 20's somewhere. There is a ton of duds drafted 22 to 24, when you look back historically. (not just cowboy picks) If we got stuck there. I am inclined to trade up or trade back.

Now when the eagles win the division will help the Cowboys future.
Right now we are about #16 to draft.
If everyone wins & there is no surprises in the NFL next week (which we know something different will happen but) & the Cowboys beat the skins. They would land about #17
However if the team packs it in & gets upset by the skins. They would fall to #12 draft pick.

Guess what I am getting at. I wont be anymore upset with the team than I am right now if we ended up losing next week. that is about a 10 pick difference losing vs. lucking our way into the playoffs.

I’m usually not the one to root against my team for draft position, but this number 2 pick is very valuable, go cowboys! :puke:

I put you guys as a win in my playoff predictor & you were still #4 in the draft.

Number two is the pick though. Cincy either goes qb or young, if they take young then someone is trading a ton to move up. Skins take young if he’s there, or take a ditka trade

I said after the Bears game my Give-A-Shit meter is on empty. Don't get me wrong I still wanted/want Dallas to win vs. Philly and Washington but I wasn't upset with the loss.
This week I'm pulling for Dallas and NY wins.

That is exactly where I am. Sure I want them to win but I am only checking the scores and not watching.

I works Sundays and recording the game and not letting anyone give me any updates is so fucking hard. I have been doing it only to come home and watch some of the most lackluster performances.

I just stopped the whole charade.

So if the Eagles jump out to a big early lead on the Giants the Cowboys should just send the starters to the bench for draft positioning. Hell they should just do it regardless. Cowboys are just going to get embarrassed if they back into the playoffs.
A few players I got on my wish list: Jerry Jeudy. WR Alabama. Really good route runner and fast. DT Leki Fotu, Utah. Big 335 pounds, and will clog holes. Fotu not the best big DT i have ever seen but if he makes it to 3rd round then get him. Fotu is a load and has a high motor and can be mean and got ejected for targeting. Imagine him landing on top of wentz???Maybe 2nd or 3rd round. Delpit safety from LSU is another guy I would consider in the first round, but if we dont sign Amari then Jeudy would look good.

All else equal. Safety. Starting to think Woods may be a better SS than FS so would still like that true Center fielder type that I've been looking for going on a decade now...

I'm watching live. Even when I did work during the game I'd check the score often. I never recorded a game so I could watch later.

Back in the early 80’s when I was working the 4-12 shift and the advent of VCR’s occurred, I would ALWAYS listen to the Cowboys game live then come home to watch the game afterward. Having Verne & Brad, then Dale (then Babe) made that easy. In 1992, I worked the graveyard shift so I recorded every game on my BetaMax to watch when I woke up. I still have that entire season on Beta. I’ve never even considered trying to avoid the game just to pretend I was watching it live. I couldn’t do it. I still do that (record but listen via radio or app) when I know I’m going to be out of pocket and can’t watch although there are times now when I just delete the game from the DVR. No sense in reliving some games.

We still have a good chance of making the playoffs so everyone just keep the faith.

Where I am working right now, it is pretty easy unless someone random pops off. I can't listen to the games but can check scores every so often. It was easy just to not look at score and run outta work without someone popping off. Not listen to radio, as it would just be scores anyway and not the game.

Come home and hit play. Pretty easy.

Now I tell my pops to send updates. This is what it was like.......

That’s awesome man. Glad you and your dad get to share your affinity for the Cowboys.

Who would the Boys draft and what are their needs?
Obviously Cowboys are more of a BPA type of drafting team, but that is a boring response.
I have for years now wanted a badass DT. That is top of my wish list. (by far)

Other options. the next Julio Jones if such a player is there when we draft. (then let Cooper walk) becomes an upgrade & saves money.

A True Free Safety instead of trying this DB or that DB in the spot.

then Anytime you can find a shutdown CB.
those would be my 4 options in that order for this years draft.

Positions I hope we avoid in the 1st round (again we all know BPA will dictate, but leaving that out for now)
I never really like the idea of using a 1st on a TE. I hope we continue to draft a TE until we find the guy, but not in the 1st.

DE & LB. Dont care to go after either of these in the 1st round also.
&
obviously we dont need a 1st round RB even if it were the BPA with Zeke on a new contract. Team would never make the change even if they could.
