Common games come into effect before the Conference record.

  1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
  4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Yeah, the Eagles and Browns losses mess the Bills up. Pats beat them both.

The AFC East doesn't feel like it's written in stone a year in advance in 2020 and beyond anymore which is weird.
I don't know. You have to go back to 2007 to find another NFL team with a better point differential per game than the Patriots this year. Aside from this years Ravens team.

If we've learned anything about this level of defense the Pats are playing - it's inherently unstable, and unsustainable. The Broncos, Ryan era Jets, Bears, and Jags are all carcasses that attest to this.

Very true. Due in large part to the Pats having by far, the best defense they've had statistically in the Belichick era. I guess we'll see come January just how much of that is who they play against.

Vikings are 6-0 at home this year. 1 game behind the Packers. All eyes are going to be on the refs. Could be a classic.

Sad... but true - this year it seems, there's more than a handful of inept crews. Pretty bad when you have to track the crews as part of the game dynamics, that's how much they've inserted themselves into the modern game.

Right. To a certain extent its like the Chiefs offense last year or the Falcons offense when they went to the Super Bowl. Patriots D and Punt Block unit is playing out of its mind.

Its not hard to imagine the Patriots offense being better, though. This is probably the worst Patriots run and pass game in the past 15 years if I had to guess.

You could add the Seahawks to that list as well. But to be fair to the Bears and Broncos, their defenses have, for the most part, played pretty well. The offenses haven't been kind to them.

Well that's kind of the point though, even best in the league is going to be a huge regression from where they are this year.

Cowboys vs Philthy.
Two reasons
1 and the most important reason. I'm a Cowboys fan.
2. That game is huge in determining who wins the NFCE. Now I know Buffalo and Minnesota both HAVE to win this week to win their divisions, but even then they need help from unlikely sources, Miami and Detroit

Actually, for the Vikings to win the division, the Vikings would have to win out while the Packers lose the next 2. A Vikings win would tie the Packers win/loss record but the Packers would own the tie breaker with a better division record.

That's exactly what I said. The Vikings need to win and get help from the Lions.
