There is a reason why teams from the Deep South have won all the championships since 2006 besides one year the Buckeyes did it in 2014. It’s because the Big10 isn’t all that and as much as Ohio St has dominated this year (they are very good), I think what @HammerDown is saying is that they haven’t really played a legit top 10 team or more importantly a top tier defense.

The playoff participants should be proven - lights-out D and a big offense. I just don't understand why the judges are giving legacy teams so much cred. There should be a SoS figure included in a set calculation....which uses a trailing 4 week SoS average to avoid teams from profiting from a weak schedule.

Great point! Theres a grand total of 2 teams who rank in the top 10 of both offense and defense ( Clemson and OSU ) and one of them has a top 25 SoS. Guess which one it is?? ( spoiler alert... its not Clemson )
