Seriously though, it sounds like a suicide. Alberta is a pretty grim place to be right now.

I was getting a little ticked off at Matt Sekeres a couple of weeks ago, he was going on about McMahon Stadium being a dump (which I have to admit it is, great sightlines for watching football, but it's old and dirty) and also about the Saddledome and why Calgary isn't spending the money to get new facilities. Uh Matt, do you know how hard Alberta has been hit by the economic downturn, I think last time I looked there was a 30% vacancy rate for downtown Calgary office space, new sporting facilities aren't really a big priority these days.

Well that's... not great.

"I believe in following the Constitution!" apparently only applies to owning tanks or whatever and getting to use slurs without consequence. The actual construction and operation of the government bits don't count.

Is there any data from 2011-16? My guess is it was very similar for Democrats at that time.

The Aug. '16 data is probably reasonably representative of the high-water mark there. That was in the lead-up to the election, and in the midst of McConnell's refusal to even consider a Supreme Court nominee. Congressional obstruction was very in-the-news at that time, and an especially outrageous version of it.

Also, I think Democrats' fatal flaw is they're too willing to compromise, and they just keep giving ground. It doesn't seem like the bulk of the party and its supporters are terribly interested in anything more than incremental progress, and the president dealing with Congress and the courts is kind of baked into that mentality.

How did these people have any room for turkey last week when they're so busy gobbling up bullshit narratives fed to them?

To be fair (self-reported!!), the question is kind of poorly worded and subject to the interpretation of the respondent. "didn't have to worry so much..." could include everything from constitutional balances to political chicanery.

Dang, I was hoping the Final Four was going to be Warren, Sanders, Castro, and Harris. I thought they provided the most compelling range of policy positions, charisma, and competence/experience of the field.

I don't think he's going to win the nomination, but I'm rooting for Mayor Pete.
