Michigan will do their part against OSU today, but I’m not sure if the B10 can “finish them”.

No one. The Invitational would be cancelled and Alabama would claim another championship.

fyi: Since Ohio State claimed their first AP National Championship in 1942, Alabama only claims AP (11), UPI / Coaches (10) / BCS (3) and CFB Playoff (2) just like Ohio State claims all of those sources.

Turns out, Ohio State uses other sources besides those four to claim 1961 and 1970. So, perhaps, we need to watch out for the extras Ohio State is "claiming" instead of "Alabama".

Just sayin'...

:)

While we DO have one (1941) highly questionable one, 12 are AP/UPI/BCS/CFP, and 4 are unbeaten Rose Bowl teams prior to the AP era.

Alabama could use similar criteria to tOSU’s 61 and 70 to claim 45, 66, 75, and 77, but do not. The whole “Alabama claims” is more of an urban legend than anything.

FTR, I count 12 titles (only those in the AP era excluding 41). I prefer to count unbeaten untied seasons including bowl wins. Bama has 9. PSU is next with 5.

This sounds like a desperate Oregon or Central Florida fan ... You are Alabama, you should be better than this.

I just posted that supposition as click bait. I didn't really expect it to garner this much attention.

I said before the season that I wasn't comfortable with Alabama's chances to make the playoffs this year, so I am not looking for a way for them to weasel in. But I wouldn't count them out just yet, either.

So Bama is out...what if all these teams lost:

Oklahoma loses to Okie St
Oklahoma beats Baylor in the CCG
Georgia loses to LSU in CCG
Utah loses to Oregon in the CCG
LSU wins out
Ohio St wins out
Clemson wins out

who gets the 4th spot? Oklahoma a week after losing to Okie St?

What if all that shit happens and

Colorado beats Utah, USC beats Oregon in P12 title game.

OKSt beats Oklahoma who then beats Baylor.

Wisky beats Minnesota then OSU

Auburn beats Bama

GT beats UGA

2 loss UGA is SEC champ with 2 awful losses

2 loss Wisky is B10 Champ

3 loss VT is ACC champ

2 loss OU is B12 champ

4 loss USC is P12 champ

LSU, OSU, Bama, Florida. Baylor, Minnesota, PSU, Utah. Michigan are all at 2 losses with no title.

It could happen you know.....
Clearly they cancel the postseason and award notre Dame the title

their final regular season games AND their conference championship games? Who gets into the playoffs then?

Nothing to worry about. Ohio State and Clemson have already won and LSU led at the half 31-0.

Well, the Sooners didn't lose to OSU, so that eliminates a portion of this scenario from taking place. You still have to bank on an Oregon win over Utah to guarantee a playoff spot for the Baylor-Oklahoma winner.

I would love to see all the undefeated teams lose in their championships because then that would expose the championship games for what they are which is nothing but a money grabbing scheme.

It's a scam because there is no guarantee that the winner gets into the playoff.

If they want to make the conference championships actually mean something, they should make the winner get an automatic bid into the playoff.

The undefeated teams should refuse to play in the championship game and force the playoff committee to take them or the other conference team.

Well Oklahoma won.

So now it is between Oklahoma, Utah, Georgia and Baylor. I think Baylor has the least likely chance to make the CFP unless they destroy Oklahoma.
