So far, both have shown they can recruit like hell, get strong devotion from their players, are total football men thru and thru....................................... and really don't coach all that well.

Clay has proven himself to be a poor head coach. That case is over.

Cristobal seems the same. We have serious talent all over this team (except placekicker) and we get to see losses to inferior teams and having to pull games out at the end against equally inferior teams. That's coaching issues. Look at Utah. They play to their ability week after week. Why do we do so 5 or 6 games a season?

ASU brought their B game and we brought our F game and were grossly unprepared and made hardly any necessary coaching changes. We, for the 5,000th time, ran a 4th & 1 over the left side where we were met by 10 ASU players. And with a 100% chance of success going up the middle, to the right, or even passing left... he just refuses to be successful.

We have top 6 talent and will lose 3+ games every year out of poor coaching. I'm just wondering how long this will go on before the faithful want a change.

You didn't see the same Herbert I saw on Saturday. None of the passes had a "100%" chance of success.

Also, Oregon does not have top6 talent. We are MAYBE the 2nd most talented team in our own conference, and there are 10 or so other teams across the country with more talent than Oregon.

I'll disagree, but one thing I can say with 100% assurance is that we're playing beneath our talent level. That's coaching.

I'm willing to give him maybe 2 more years, but if this shit eating continues, we need to make a change.

To get who? Oregon could easily end up with another Helfrich. Unless recruiting takes a down turn (outside the top20 for consecutive seasons) it would be foolish to consider a change.

If anything, Oregon is going to increase his contract after this season.

There is no way you can with a straight face say that Oregon has more talent than LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Clemson, or USC.

For me, I'm not willing to have top 6 talent just to lose 3 or 4 games per year. I'd rather make a new mistake than the same old one.

That said, my hope is that he either learns to coach better or gets assistants who can. But the coaching this season rates a D with me.

Let's get top 6 talent first before we run our mouths about underachieving.

The defense has overachieved this year.

He kinda inherited a shitshow and has improved the team each year. It's not like he was in a spot like Ryan Day or Lincoln Riley, inheriting elite teams they just needed to not fuck up.

Holy crap.

The guy took a 4 win team to a 9 win team his first year.
He has at least 9 wins so far in his second year.

Give the guy some time.

It's late November and your team controls it's own destiny for the Rose Bowl. A week ago you were in good position for a playoff appearance. There aren't 10 teams in the country you would trade places with.

I think calling for a coaches head is a bit premature

He lost to Auburn so one year at a time.

It's not like Frost using a G5 to beat Auburn in a NY6 bowl.

It’s amazing how often Auburn is the measuring stick for greatness.
