MY Criteria for an 8 team playoff, put the top 4 teams as selected by a committee into the playoffs and they play like they currently do, then select the bottom 4 FBS teams and tell them to stay home.

Same as my criteria for the 4 team. If it's 4 teams, give me the 4 best teams regardless of conference, if it's 8 teams, give me the 8 best teams regardless of conference.

You will never get any coach, AD, etc..to agree to have any form of playoff system that has “byes” in it.

If it’s not set up on equal footing, it’ll never fly.

All playoff participants have equal number of games.

That’s why a 6 team playoff will NEVER work.

No one wants to play an extra game, while the higher seed gets extra practice and time to prepare for their opponent.

That's because people these days are sissies and dont understand that it takes hard work to be the best over everyone else. I never complained about it when i was in sports, and it was common for top seeds to get byes in the sports i played. But this is the world we live in today.

BTW going to 8 teams will probably solve the P5 problem on its own. I think in most years, a P5 champ will b a top 8 program anyway. (Would have been the case last year).

I guess so, I just don't see the logic behind wanting a 4 loss conference champ that lost to an FCS team in over a one loss non conference champ who's only loss was on the road, in OT to the undefeated champ of that team's conference.

2 things:

1. When was the last time a P5 Champ had 4 losses. Certainly doesn't happen a lot.

2. As to the Bolded, how does a Conference let that happen in the first place.
