If I had one complaint about the show so far it is the score. I really didn't think it was very good.

Really like the promise of the show.

da's race or an actual clone of Yoda. The Empire has/had cloning facilities. Maybe Herzog's character got wind that Yoda had accessed them in the past (maybe while still in Republic control) and was thus hunting it down. Also, this makes it way more likely that we see a Sidious clone and not just a Sidious Force ghost in RoS.
LOTS of potential with this show! I hope they don't fuck it up.

Wasn't blown away but I enjoyed it. I definitely intend to stick with it.

Yoda died of old age at 900 and that thing was still a baby at 50. So Yoda was a baby for at least 1/18 of his life. Seems a bit disproportionate. But whatever, it's a made up alien species and maybe Yoda got into the death sticks in his 300s.

Decent first episode. The production quality is outstanding. Disney needed to go all in with their flagship series and didn't disappoint. It dragged a little but the big battle scene was cool and it definitely gave enough to keep watching.

The payoff was meh though.

Reading the previews there was supposed to be a shocking twist and we got baby Yoda. To be fair it it was baby Jar Jar Pascal shot the wrong CGI character but when it happened I was like ok cool.

The shocking twist was finding out space ships actually have toilets

I think this in a roundabout way be a mini Yoda anthology if it explores this character's species/background

This is why I really liked it as a first episode. Lays the groundwork well with how they set up the environment with all the visuals but it doesn't hold your hand through it. Felt just like a Star Wars movie without the familiar characters/worlds/obvious easter eggs. Really looking forward to what happens as it gets going.

The implications for the twist we got could be HUGE and even show up in RoS.

Maybe it will be a buddy/parent movie with Yoda-Clone being raised by an outcast Madalorian adopted father. YC would grow up to be one BMF.
Also read an article that if the infant YC or Yoda species is supposed to be 50, that would put its birthdate pretty much the same as Anakin's. Maybe YC/YS is the balance to Anakin's fall to the Dark Side?

Also, the production value and stylistic choices they made in just this first episode gives me high hopes for the Obi Wan series. I've been waiting for a Kenobi movie or series for fucking years!

So my step-daughters pleaded with me to get Disney+. They're teens but still love the Disney stuff since they are straight lace types.

Since I got it I checked this out. Pretty good. I love Pedro Pascal, or at least every character he has ever played, and I think he does a good job bringing his swagger to his role.

The show still has a lot of the head scratching incongruities of the Star War series(you have space ships but you have to tame some weird animal to get to the compound) but otherwise pretty good.

I loved the reveal.

I was also a little surprised by Mando's arbitrary fighting ability. Sometimes he can take on a half dozen bad guys and other times he barely survives against a random herd animal.

But I thought this article did a good job setting the context...

Star Wars meets John Wick. Kills a bunch of mofos. Seen it before.

I'll wait for the free telecast.

The 2nd episode was short but still pretty decent.

Do they ever say the name of the planet he was on? When the Jawas showed up with their sand crawler I started wondering if it was Tatooine. Same technology, attire, and behavior as the ones we saw in Episode 4. Didn't see the twin suns though so I'm guessing that was not Tatoooine.

Really liked episode 2. This is off to a very strong start.

The baby yodaling is just too fucking cute. I cannot describe just how damn adorable that little guy is. When he got up trying to heel Mando's wound, ugh. The feels. [/spoilers]

Totally agree.

Many Gizmo from Gremlins vibes in Chapter 2
