the fair catch was dumb. He could have had Dallas in striking distance without an alley oop. Could have been an actual pass play or multiple.
Instead of using all the time getting into range for the hail mary. Garrett still is capable of reminding me he is dumb inside of 2 minutes.

That fair-caught punt might be the mistake of the game. I realize his coaches probably told him to fair-catch the ball no matter what, but he had a good 10-12 yards of open space, with blockers and only TWO vikings within that open space, and the sideline was completely wide open

Why Fair Catch?

Prescott has a fairly weak arm. He is not going to be able to throw it very deep. That is not his best attribute.

And its fine, plenty of good quarterbacks have weak arms.

So, why fair catch and make it nearly impossible.

They had to waste two more plays of dinking and dunking just to get a single shot close enough for Dak's limited range.

Even a 10 yard run might have gotten it close enough to take 2 or 3 shots down the field.

I mean it was a decent throw I'll give him that. He did get up it up and high with some hang time for his guys to try and make a play on it in the endzone. It wasn't a Mark Sanchez rocket it 30,000 feet in the sky and end up 10 yards short of the goal line anyway... (if someone has that video I'd love to laugh my ass off again).
